Default What bodyshop do you use?

I have a bits of spray work needed on my Impreza, I'm desperately trying to get it ready for the Uxbridge Auto show, but I don't have a regular bodyshop to do the work.

I need side skirts, 4 x spats, 22b vents, front bumper, fog covers and P1 splitter, all spraying in 230 white, but need to give the parts without the car and trust they'll be a good colour match without needing to rob a bank to pay for it all

I'm in High Wycombe but work in Central London, travelling in via the M40/A40, so dropping off and collecting my parts is not an issue, I just need some decent recommendations please.

I use C&K Motors in Leominster. PM Prodriverules on here - I know it's a hike, but you could always courier the stuff or take the opportunity for a drive out - it's a great set of A-roads across there

Thanks Jon, as much as I think at trip to see him is something I'd love to do, his work is fantastic, I just don't know if it'll happen because I'm always busy with work or general life.
After recently couriering a bumper I sold on ebay, I swore never to do that again, it was a complete ball ache from start to finish

I just went down to see a guy that did some work on my previous cars, but he's moving to a new location and could be out of action for a long time, so now I'm desperate!!!!

Yeah, I'll be there in one form or another Si, I just feel like it's all caught up with me and I neither have the time or money at the moment!!

I still have other jobs to do on top of the spray work, such as pistons and seal kit for the 4pots, plus they need fitting, arch rolling, FMIC still needs extra touches, engine bay is a state, dent removal on a few panels, need a stereo, MOT, tax, insurance etc etc etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need months, not weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's been on a SORN for about 14/15 months now, but I just have too many hobbies as I get older and the car keeps taking a back seat in life, now of course I'm panicking about being ready!! Always the way

Mine's only been SORNed since Christmas but the starter has no connection to the battery at the moment - amongst other things

I'm thinking like this.....

1. get spray work done
2. get arches rolled
3. finish FMIC to get the car driveable
4. get MOT/TAX/Insurance
5. Anything else is a bonus if there's time (brakes/stereo/exhaust etc)

I'm in the same boat looking for a decent bodyshop and got the same things to respray in 230 white lol

Was thinking of making the journey to Ryan but fuel costs of two cars there and back are putting me off. If I can't find a local bodyshop then might have to bite the bullet and go there.

Keep me updated on this thread or via PM if you do find anywhere and I'll do the same for you.
I've got a few places to try now and I'm waiting for a quotation to come back to me for a place just outside Wycombe towards Rich at FB tunings workshop.

That's the way Cliff all I'm working is sections I'm not looking at the big picture here just sections leading to it.
I will be a passenger in Kev's car so I will be there for sure.

The cost fuel is tiny compared to the cost of a decent respray so I wouldn't let that put you off. I found when using Ryan that there are little bits that you don't even consider that he just does and that made all of the difference - he's a scooby nut and will treat your car differently to someone who churns out insurance jobs most of the time

Jon,

I guess your right and that's what I'm thinking as he knows scoobys like the back of his hand. When you have a place near you can always pop in and check on the progress.

Last bodyshop I used for my other car gave me a tub full of screw and nuts they couldn't bother to fit after finishing the car lol

I gave all the bits to Lee at Mirror Finish today, but I've held back the splitter and splash guards as I might leave them black for a while until I'm 100% sure I want them white

Hey Firose,

have a look at these photos I've taken for you.
Lee at Mirror finish (the link is above) did the work and is absoloutely spot on, I'll go back again and again now

Parts sprayed were:

1. front bumper
2. front bumper fog covers
3. front grill
4. 22b style bonnet vents
5. Side skirts

The skirts are not fitted but pictured loose below.....
