Default FMIC is finally fitted. ## now with pics ##

After a long wait for parts and time my FMIC was finally fully fitted today despite the freezing cold

All I need now is a large jubilee clip as the RCM inlet was bigger than I thought and she is good to go.

I was a little worried when I stared it up as the tick over was very lumpy but seemed to settle down after around 30 seconds. I'm guessing the ecu was adjusting everything to make up for the induction kit and larger core

Just need a little cash now for trip up to see Rich for a map tweak and I will be happy.

Will post a couple of pics when I can feel my fingers.

Swing past here mate, I've got a tub full of jubilee clips in the garage - I'll have one that'll be big enough I'm sure

Tomorrow morning, Sunday afternoon/evening or Monday will work best - playing chauffer to the kids otherwise

Ok mate thanks. Does it sound right that my tick over was lumpy like it was going to stall then settled down?

Yes mate, you've got more air coming in and the MAF is in a new position so the ECU will be struggling to rescale the MAF. It won't be able to do it without a remap as the toleerances are limited - you just need to take it easy until the remap as it is likely to run a bit lean

I was thinking it would be something along those lines. Will get to Rich sooner rather than later hopefully. Thanks Jon

You'll be surprised how much extra airflow will come from that RCM filter and the FMIC

Thanks Jon, still need to put my square number plate on and get purple breather hose. Also think I will need to shorten the dump valve pipe as it is touching the top FMIC pipe. Am happy with how it looks though.

Thanks mate, I like to try different colours and purple is a little unusual. There are other purple highlights across the car including the brembos

Cheers Rich, would of looked out of place if it didn't match the rest of the pipework.

You can also see in the pics of the front of my car and the wheels a couple more hints if purple. The wheel stickers and couldn't resist the front tow strap not only was it purple but it is a Luke one (real or fake not too sure but also not too bothered) which is also my sons name

Thanks for the great comments guys, as said before I'm really happy at how it looks now. Just a few little tweaks number plate etc and it will be sorted.

Once the weather improves I will put up a post on here showing everything I've done to it over the past year or so.
