I'm after a banger to do the daily 50-mile round trip to work and back. Ideally as close to free as possible but no more than a couple of hundred quid. Would like at least 6-months MOT and as much tax as possible. Ideal would be a 1.0 Fiesta or Corsa

a guy i work with has a 106 diesel got it for about £400 quid slow as **** but loadsa mpg and like sitting in a skip with windows (windy ones at that).

Seriously though, those Volvos are pretty good value for money

 

Cheap to buy but not to run and insure - saw a passat TDI at the weekend which cost more to insure than buy which is why fiesta, corsa etc would be ideal - I'll just scrap it when I move on from the current job
