Default My Blob widetrack

Hi all, I have finally had all of the dents sorted on the bodywork and replaced the knackered rear arch trim... but why stop there, i decided it needed a little more so i went ahead and blacked out the headlights, debadged, smoothed and sprayed the front grill and then went for a little drive up to Birmingham to see Richard ( LUCKO ) and take his XXR 527's off his hands.

Sorry for the state of the car, it was cleaned 2 days ago but the roads are manky. I thought i would include its current spec also.

Exterior :

RCM wrc style rear wing with moulded stiffies.
Blacked out headlights
De badged grill
Light tint all round
Boot De locked and smoothed.

Suspension and handling:

Xxr 527's 18x8.75 et35 with 225 continentals and 225 dunlops
Tein super street coilovers
Brembo discs and fast road pads
Perrin PSRS
Perrin drop links
Perring strut brace
Perrin chassis lockdown kit

Interior:

Sod all, bone stock

Engine and performance:

Scooby clinic rebuild 6k ago with forged pistons and acl bearings.
RCM fuel pump
RCM 80mm air intake with K&N filter
RCM Radiator cool panel
RCM manifold and complete exhaust system
Ecutek remap
Ported vf35 turbo
Uprated exedy clutch

The car was dyno's at 353 bhp prior to the exhaust system being fitted, so is estimated at 400 now !!......Just kidding, maybe a bit more who knows, i'll hopefully get it dyno's next year if a dyno day is set up on here perhaps.

To do:

Front splitter from HT autos
(possibly) side skirt extensions from Ht autos, im undecided
Hawkeye clocks
Carbon effect rear diffuser from HT autos
Oil pressure, temp and boost gauges
New mats

Hi Siv,

Yes at the ride height i currently have i had some scraping over larger bumps or hard cornering,

I have ground the inner arch out and undersealed it as it can't be rolled on the widetrack.

Im now only getting a fractin of contact on really big bumps now, but i am going to be raising the rear just a touch as i can fully get a flat hand over the front tyres but get stuck at the knuckles at the rear, so this slight raise should cure everything.

No rubbing at all on the front

I have the camber bolts sat on the fridge, i'm going to raise the back slightly so its level with the front and see how it goes, if all is well then i would rather not use them as i would like my tyres to last as long as possible. However if it does not sort it then they will go on as i dont want to raise it too much as i like the look.

Can they be fitted to an early blob sti without arch work ?
I'm on coilovers and rear camber bolts.

Depends on your ride height and camber, but i would suspect that you will need an arch roll ( arch enemy would be my choice ), or you can do what i did to my old impreza and use a heat gun and rubber mallet, looked brilliant and no cracked paint.

Thanks guys.

I had a guy lined up for the machine polishing but it has not happened as yet.. soon be sorted i hope.
As for the plate its just dirty and i need to change the screw cap to white between the 'U' to smarten it up.
And finally i think i'm going to keep the wheels silver, it's a good contrast when it's all cleaned up.
