It's a fad and a waste of your money. Just use a pressure washer like everyone else

You still need a pressure washer, it's a pre cleaning step, ideal to allow to dwell whilst sorting out the other bits (filling buckets ect) or used a touchless wash, using a decent snowfoam will remove more filth than pressure washing alone, it can also be used to apply soap to the car (for wash mitt or claying step) And for cost, it works out about 5p per wash due to the mixing ratios

Its great for when the car is really dirty , which is ironic as those who use snowfoam probably never let their cars see dirt ! (Me being one of them by the way)

Load of bollocks, snow foam does not remove extra dirt above an beyond what a pressure washer with water will shift. It amazes me how many people get duped by these 'products'. And yes i include myself in that as i have tried it too. It made feckall difference compared to using a pressure washer and then a normal hand wash.

I've used 3 differnet brands and never really been that impressed.

Clearly not, a lot of professional detailers use snowfoam as part of there pre wash regime. Now surely if it was pointless then they'd save the money and not bother.

I've tried bilt hamber, magi-foam and now back to bilt hamber. It doesn't "cling" as long as the others, so only needs 3-4mins dwell time but I've found it to be more effective in those 3-4 mins than a clingier product is in 10mins.

Plenty of 50:50 tests been done, one half of a car jetwashed only and the other half snowfoamed and jetwashed and the results are pretty clear in favour of snow foaming to be honest.

I think it works really well and I don't really like blasting my car with a pressure washer forcing the dirt off as I've seen what it does to my patio lol. I prefer the way the snow foam lifts it off.

Two of my friends are professional detailers and the swear by snow foam!

Another vote for the Bilt Hamber foam. Works well as a pre wash or as a quick touchless wash if your feeling lazy.

lol you're gullible as well as a hypocrit. Detailers are **** by nature they love this product as its something else they can add to their washing cycle. And of course they can probably sell it on to gullible punters like you.

Those "tests" created by the foam manfacturers per chance?

There probably are plenty of manufacturer arranged tests yes, but I'm referring to tests done by forum community members, detailers and amateur/enthusiasts alike.

Most 'detailers' are running a business like anybody else, why would they have another product eating into their margins and time if it wasn't worth doing.

Besides, you get to play ghostbusters for 5mins a weekend - worth it on that alone.

And your a delightful ray of sunshine.

Any who. I personally find a decent snowfoam works quite well and certainly doesn't cost the earth, so I shall continue to use it. By the by my old man has passed comment on how well it works before and he has no interest in detailing or any of the crap that surrounds it.

It doesn't eat into their margins if they sell it on marked up from the trade price that they had to pay for it

Also explain to me why a professional bodyshop painter on here agrees with me 100% ? Sorry but I will always take the opinion of a professional sprayer over some amateur detailers and my own eyes.

You summed it up in the last statement, lots of people only buy this stuff simply because it looks "cool", bit sad really.

Imo and experience, if the car is "older" the paint is more resilient...modern cars definitely benefit from a good wash regime.

The bodyshop sprayer vs detailer clashing opinions runs much deeper than snowfoam.

There's a reason why high end detailers get quite a lot of custom from new car buyers and cars fresh from a respray.

Valet pro ph neutral for me.

If there's even a chance that it helps reduce wash marring then I'm going to use it. Doesn't work out that dear per wash anyway.
