You need to get a snow foam lance with the karcher attachment. Can be bought from cleanyourcar.co.uk.

Pic 1 & 2 look like milk lol,
you cant be using a proper lance as thats far too thin, the idea of it is the foam sticks on the surface and softens up the crud and as you rinse it disappears, obviously some runs off and it pulls the crud with it again,
It normally comes out like shaving foam and the one Im using now dwells for 30 mins + so it gives me time to do the wheels etc and rinse the lot off in one go.

I know, I'm only using an inch and a half in the 1litre bottle then topping up with water.

How much should I put in?

much thicker, you can see it hanging in places and on the floor you can see the thicker consistency where its dripping off.

The amount sounds right for most SF`s I use half inch in a smaller bottle and top up with warm water,
what setting is your mixture set on your lance at and what PW do you use?

Bungleaio - I use the Magifoam (as per the link on DW) but have some super and ultimate, the Magifoam just lasts and lasts,
SK - not sure what the litre flow is on the halfords, it can be that if enough water doesnt pass thru it then it doesnt foam very well, yours doesnt seem to foam at all.

I love the Snow Foam Lance, on a dirty car it breaks down the surface grime, so the preasure washer can blast it off......thus when you wash the car using the 2BM you'll have less chance of adding light scratchs/swirls.

All in a days work for for detailing a car propley:-

Why's that? I've considered buying the pressure washer and accessories for this but if they are a waste of time I won't bother!

A good detail should always start with a proper foaming to remove any light dirt etc on the paint that might swirl or mark the paint in later stages. Quite fun as well

One of my mates has got some magifoam, it was still on his drive 2 days after him washing his car! Personally I like the supa snow foam, it sticks pretty well but it also drags the dirt off as it runs down the panels.

Because people will tell you as you can see in this thread that it breaks dirt down so u can easily rinse it off with a pressure washer. Whereas in reality a pressure washer will remove 99% of the dirt easily without it having to be 'broken down'. For me it just added 10mins of extra washing time that simply isn't needed.

But I dont need to touch my car with a mitt if I use magifoam, all depends if your paintwork is in good condition as well,
but the hack isnt waxed /sealed and the foam doesnt get all the crud off so I have to wash it after still.

What? u should always use a mitt whether u foam it or not. Foaming is no magic solution, there will always be tiny dirt particles left in the paint no matter what method you use, so why bother.

Put it this way, I pressure wash with water, use a mitt n decent shampoo, 2 buckets, to keep dirt out of the suds, then rinse n dry with thick microfibre towels. My car hasn't got a single scratch or swirl on it as is 6yrs old, nuff said. If any swirls do appear then polish preferably with a DA n protect, seal, job done.

Foaming is a con/fad imo, if it was so good at what it does, why has it only appeared on the market in recent times?

It depends how **** you are about your car. If you are happy with going to the local £5 car wash place then fair enough, I wish I was it would save me a lot of time and money.

If you want to keep your paint as swirl free as possible then foaming is an essential step in the cleaning process. As is softens the dirt thats stuck to your car and helps it run off when you get the pressure wash on it. Then when you get the washmitt on the car most of the dirt has already gone.

Do you use soap on your hands, detergent for your washing?

I will continue to foam.
