My03 blob wrx making it my own
Hi all as some of you might know I brought a blob about a month ago and now trying to make it my own just thought I would share my progress so far it looked like this when I got it
Mods on it when I brought it
Decat from first cat back 3"
Baileys DV
Since then the first thing I did was brakes droplinks and ball joint then I fitted a walbro fuel pump
Then I started under the bonnet with parts I already had and some I have brought I fitted an sti tmic removed the ribbed inlet tube and replaced with smooth chrome effect
And removed DV and fitted a recirc
Look so far
Then I changed a few exterior parts like the wheels first as the one on it were a bit battered so I put the wheels on from my classic.
The spoiler that was on it had cracks and full of water so replaced with carbon fibre spoiler and the sti bonnet scoop I have also replaced with a carbon fibre one
The roof had a g-y fake roof scoop on it which on taking off had peeled the laquer off so had it smoothed off and carbon wrapped the roof
Now looks like this
Next on the list is to sort out the top spoiler your not gonna believe what the last owner did to fit this
Yes that's right used self tappers straight into the bodywork so over the last couple of day when we have had heavy rain I have a puddle in the boot. So for now and removed it siliconed it and replaced for now as going to have both rear quarters repaired and resprayed at the end of November
I also had the car mapped to 262 bhp by Duncan
But in jan plan to put a vf34 or vf35 uprate the injectors and hopefully get it upto about 330bhp
So that's it at the moment but as I continue I will update
Thanks all for taking the time to read my thread

Looking good so far. Can believe what the previous owner did with the roof spoiler, anyone daft enough to put a fake roof scoop on is easily capable of doing something as stupid as that.
Not keen on the front grille STi badge, bit like putting an R32 badge on a GTi if you know what I mean. Also think the Scooby Doo is a bit gay, but each to their own!

Yer the scooby doo is just for a bit of a giggle it was an air fresher that has lost its smell so put it on there for a bit of fun
The whole front bumper is being changed for a wrc replica that I brought yesterday so the sti badge will be gone as the wrc bumper has grill built in

lol bet Scooby Doo feels a bit fresher there,
Dan I don't think someone who removed a fake roof vent will put a sticker kit on their car, or at least I hope they don't!
Just thinking, would be nice to polish that engine bay up. And adding a strut brace would only arguably do something but definitely bling it up a bit, maybe a branded battery brace too.

the engine stuff looks nice though.
also you could fit a hawk foor vane as they use rivnuts to attach to the car and if your lucky the holes will be in the correct place, if not it would cover the holes up at least and you could seal them up.

There ain't just 2 holes in each side it's not a pritty sight under there and a bad spray job has been done on the off side rear so just going to get them both done at least I know they will be good then.
It scares the hell out of me to think how long water has been getting in and how bad it is in there but bodywork guy will sort it all (I hope )

Have to agree with tubs on the carbon bits, i think carbon stuff has a halfords thing about it, what is it you want from this car? Total exclusivity? Or just a few bits to make it different? If i were you i would consider the full wrc kit if your budget will allow it, not to many of them on the road.
Would be a good idea to get your bodyshop to fit it for you if you wanted aswell.

I really like the look of the wrc front bumper can't wait to see it fitted but you very well could be right on the wrc comment as I do like the look a lot
