Smile My new pride and joy 02 bugeye WRX

A terrible photo but the rain hasn't stopped long enough to get a better pic yet.

A few things need doing to her, she has a hairline crack at the top of the radiator that leaked under high revs (garage knocked off price of new radiator and applied a dollop of mastic to seal it which seems to be holding for now but definitely needs repair / replacing). Theres also a small crease in the rear nearside wheel arch ( you can just make it out in this photo ).

No its just the poor photo hence the washed out look of the front end!
I'll get some better photos up asap.

Couple more pics :

That wasn't the price I paid ;-)
The real bonus apart from a smooth ride, good power delivery, great brakes and new tyres and brake pads was finding out that the car has a full prodrive exhaust and a full service history including a cambelt change around 18,000 miles ago. One mod I'm not sure of however is the aftermarket dump valve that's been fitted, it's flipping loud BUT it does seem to deliver a better acceleration curve compared to my old (standard recirc) Classic WRX Wagon.

Looks nice, I'll be after something similar in the next few months. The dump valve would have to go though haha.

For a new rad, checkout ebay. I got an alloy one of there for around £60.

Cheers all.

The radiator is being replaced at Sheffield Subaru Services along with a major service. It's the best way to ensure I know what has been done and when.

There are some good condition cars out there for good prices (picked this one up for £1700 in the end). Although by the end of next week I will have spent just over £1k extra on her to calm my borderline OCD on maintenance and also tidy up a few rough edges. Undecided on the dump valve as the turbo does seem smoother but that's in comparison to my old classic wagon.

All in all as soon as I get in I get an attack of

Dave

Fella, lose the DV as it does nothing for performance.
