The STI v2 555 was blue, and had a roof vent - I have a scan of the original brochure. It was Japanese market only, though quite a few have been imported to the UK. Your chassis code sounds familiar, and I'm fairly sure does match the 555 v2 STI, but that's not to say the same code didn't ever apply to other cars as well.
You definitely don't have a 22B, no question there.
From the photo, unless it's a trick of the light, your front door looks a different colour from the rear door. Is it?
See here - the same chassis code applies to the standard STI v2, so that's probably what you have.

yes i know its no 22b its just where im trying to find out exactly what it is i thought may be it would help if it had the right car on the log book must of got mixed up when it was imported when i checked it up on the internet the chassis plate code leads it to a version 2 wrx sti but then it shows 2 of them a 555 or just a wrx sti and on the wrx sti its a different engine code my engine code matches up with wrx sti 555 special edition i am just wondering why would they share the same engine code so it says the same engine code as the 555 import and not the 555 uk models because these are just wrx's im guessing so could anybody tell me what internals this car has it says its 275 bhp i have looked underneath and it has the alloy wish bones and im guessing only the RA models have this and it has the intercooler sprayers which i thought only the RA had as well so if it was just a normal version 2 sti why does it have these upgrades im still a bit lost on the matter sorry about the poor picture quality it does the car no justice if it was a piece of junk i would'nt really look to much into it but the car is immaculate inside and out i have loads of subarus but this is the cleanest one i have had and its only covered 70,000 miles and has all the import paper work and service book before i brought it a 70 year old man owned it and he kept it mint it drives like new so i would really like to know what this subaru exactly is

Ok, first things first: breathe, and punctuate. You'll get a lot more help if your post is readable.

ok lol all jokes aside if you look up gc8c4ed it will lead you to a wrx sti and wrx sti 555 so then it gives you the choice of 2 engine codes which mine is ej20gdw5pe which leads to wrx sti 555 so did they do different versions with the imported ones im still comleteley lost on this

hi jayallen thanks for the reply i get what your saying so it shares the same model code and engine code as the import 555 so what your saying is this is just a normal version 2 sti? but i dont get why it has the intercooler water spray and the alloy wish bones and also it has the bigger brake calipers not the normal sti forpots

As Jay says, it's a regular STI V2.
I think maybe you've come accross a website (catherin and ken) that a lot of people just take as gospel. The problem is, scenarios like this one crop up showing the info is not always correct.
I have seen the same thing before, it seems some of the later (maybe) V2 STI's got the DW5PE engine code on the vin plate, the same as the 555's. strangely though, it might not even be a CDB. I had a google and found the thread, it's on the RA forum. Chap on there had a V2 sti engine out of a normal sti v2, he had seen the vin and it had the DW5PE code and there was also the full engine code (same DW5PE) on a sticker on the cambelt cover and the number stamped into the back of the block matched. Strange thing is, the engine was an open deck block.
The thread seemed to conclude that some of the later V2 STI's got the DW5PE engine code on the vin but they were open deck engines.

cheers lads!
Looking forward to getting it into its new home for the end of the year. Then I can spend the winter getting her road worthy again.
I wont be taking it apart quite like Si though
One more picture with its big brother.
