Default 4evernewbie's Type R

Hi all.
I figured it's high time I properly introduced my V5 Type R. I want to do this as a project thread mainly to see how far I take this car and where it started.

This is how I got it, pretty clean, only got 37k and full history. Basically, here are the mods as I bought it:
Engine: 2.1 RCM stroker, RCM ceramic coated equal length headers and up-pipe, de-cat turbo back exhaust (loud!), GFB lightweight pulleys, Walbro fuel pump, V5 ported heads, cosworth sump baffle, exedy twin plate clutch with lightweight flywheel, HKS SSQV, standard VF28, TMIC, yellow injectors, RCM induction kit, mapped to 350/330
Suspension: Standard STI, whiteline rear ARB, whiteline solid droplinks all round.
Interior; Standard with the exception of centre mounted 3guage pod
Exterior: Standard with the exception of a P1 splitter

So the bodywork isn't 100%, maybe I'm being pedantic. It's had a respray down the drivers side . I plan on getting this sorted one day but it isn't a priority. The front bumper isn't mounted correctly, I'm hoping this is a simple fix. You can see this here:

See how it overhangs underneath the indicator? I plan to sort this.
Also, can you see how the shut line of the bonnet doesn't quite line up? I'd like to get that sorted too. I have some aeroflush bonnet catches to install, maybe fitting them will help. Should certainly help with the bonnet shaking at speed
Whilst I'm there, I personally don't like these:

I want to go back to the original orange ones.
Other than that, the bodywork is ok. Ever so slight bubbling on the passenger side arch but I think I'll probably get all the bodywork done in one go next year rather than do bits at a time. Only after all that will I put the original sticker on the rear quarters

The inlet could do with a spruce up. I've got some high temp paint in the garage, I'll probably do it when I install a parallel fuel rail setup.

So that's about it really. Where am I going to go from here? Well I've got a second hand set of Tein coilovers on the way along with some camber adjustment bolts. Bung that lot on this weekend hopefully and get it over to Shevron for a full setup.
After that, 6speed DCCD
I was thinking about sending it to ScoobyClinic and getting them to fit a FMIC with recirc DV along with some Lateral reflowed injectors and a remap whilst it's there. Will probably do the parallel fuel rails and fit a FPR before it goes just to help fuelling.
After that, it'll be ready for a twisted SC-GT35

My main plans for it are to keep it as a weekend car, attend a few shows like Pageant of Power, maybe a RWYB etc etc

Thanks for looking, any comments good or bad welcome. I'll try and keep this updated as it goes on.

Paul.

Only had it about a month, it was advertised on here by a guy who lives in Aberdeen. Was a fair trek to go view it and then go back to pick it up

Cheap gauges replaced by 60mm Defis, steering wheels replaced as old one was looking a little tired, double DIN replaced with single DIN to give me room for Defi controller and somewhere to keep my iPod to hand.
Main thing that motivated that was wanting to get rid of the touchscreen HU which I think is a stupid idea for driving

Also, 6speed hawk DCCD fitted, Syvecs, forge recirc, CDF top feed conversion fuel rails in parallel connected to a full size Fuelab FPR, ID1000 injectors mapped to 1.2 bar by MartynJ now pushing 330hp.

Also fitted the Tein superstreets, front 22mm ARB, roll centre mod and CDF titanium wheel nuts. Currently at Chevron getting setup.

Just ticked over 39k last week

Paul

It's a nice car but I'm an old school purist, so I am not keen on the black.
I had one the same colour, so that might be influencing me as tastes/style changes.

The sidelights are a nice touch though and it's actually a better place for the indicators.

You do know that there is a spare place on the rear cluster where you can fit that foglight?
