2.1 stroker graphs please
Hi Guys,
Planning a rebuild and need to make some decisions.
Please could you post graphs and let me know what heads/cams,turbo and what fuel you are using.
Im particularly interested in GT30 hybrids vs rotated GT30 Billet.
Thanks in Advance

Worth having a good trawl through the billet better thread. I posted my graph on there if you want to look:

Obviously my set up is never going to make big HP, standard heads/cams, on a SC46. But it is awesome on the road, so tractable.

Exactly I just dont have the time to read all those pages just to find the odd applicable graph hence posting this in the hope that people would just post their own graphs up.
This is my current engine. Stock 2.0L 05 JDM with an LM450 Billet on 15% methanol.
I have to do a precautionary rebuild so I am trying to decide whether to A go the 2.1 route and B whether to go rotated turbo or not.
The reason I ask is that I saw a graph yesterday with a 2.1 and a billet 30 and it was near on identical to what I currently have. So therefor I may as well just save myself a fortune and not bother with the additional expense .
If I see some evidence to the contrary then I shall take the plunge.

Tell me about it - 'War and Peace' at least has a story line. Took me ages to read that little ****** when I was deciding on my final set up. It'll be good to get a one stop shop of stats/graphs for different engine types. Will follow with interest.

Daz I wouldn't bother going rotated as there will be normal fit turbos that will reach the power goal of a gt30 billet. Andy hughes has a gt30 billet on his 2.1ltr and it gets 1bar of boost at 3500rpm and full boost at 3900rpm. I get 1bar of boost at 3200rpm and full boost (2.15bar) at 3600rpm on my/your billet 35.
Surely there is a nice twin scroll turbo that will do mid 500's on 20% meth?

Then daz from personal experience I've found you need 50 of each in a new age to get that feeling of the lighter classic. So surely you will need more than 650/600+ to feel the same as the type r. Might be time to look at building a 2.35 or as you have previous experience go the same route as the type r

This what happenss when you chase figures.Look at the low powered cars from last years sprint they beat so many cars in s3 and cars with 150-200bhp more power.
I had a wr1 stripped out in time attack 605bhp-580ft trq. gt35 2.5 amazing motor.
My spec c around a sprint track and on the road would kill it in every way.

A poorly set up big power car will often be beaten by a lower powered, better set up car.
However, as with most disciplines in motorsport, power will play it's part at some point and when it all comes together the tables will likely turn the other way.

I'm not bothered about the sprints fud. It's a money sport. The way they all sold out this year was f*cking ridiculous. All those with plenty of cash paid for all the rounds in one go and us normal folk who were skint after Xmas didn't stand a chance.
So it's track days and 1/4 mile for me.
Steve, I'm not after replicating the type r as that was just awesome and I've had a child since then so my budget is not what it once was.
I'd love to build a 2.35 but the cost of the blocks is a **** take.
So I'm almost certain it's a 2.1 with a billet thirty as I've yet to see a stock position turbo that delivers the same power as a rotated and keep the same spool characteristics.

Daz the power delivery on the newage is totally differnt to the type r. The new age doesn't feel as fast but sometimes they are as its down to a totally differnt chassis. At a guess I would say mine is around 650bhp yet drives perfectly fine without a cage yet at that power level in the type r it would need a cage. Don't get too caught up comparing like for like and just enjoy your car at a nice power level!
