Default Clock Upgrade

We started with our standard clocks which we didnt like....

Then upgraded to 2005 red needle WRX clocks from a 2005 Model fitted with white LED's again better but still not happy

So finally got the right clocks and after 2 days of fiddling with wires and relays im happy

you have been busy! this is exactly what i want to do on my blob sti! i hate the dim green dials! ive been after a set of the sweeping dials for ages now!

was the bulbs easy to change on them as i may start with that, i know on my old car i had to solder different coloured led into the board and that was a nightmare!

Out of a hawk I think now looking at them I know you have to remove a green film off the back of the dials on the earlier newage clusters and it just removing the twist lock bulbs and replacing with t5 leds but its sorting out the hotspots form the leds I'm having problems with at the moment and the headlight leveller switch is a right pain replacing all the leds and soldering new ones in

They were given to me as 2005 Blobeye Defi Style Sweep Clocks,

Illumination can be adjusted on the clocks themselves which i think means they are definetly not hawk clocks as hawk ones are adjusted on the stalk instead i believe

I've just unsoldered the bulb and removed it, but then again, I've also removed all of my ABS

I believe all of the blob WRX ones come up white, plus being WRX clocks they are a lot cheaper than STI ones. They still need a second earth to sort out the handbrake warning light and a relay for the ABS. There is a thread somewhere telling you how to do it

Its not that hard to be honest, you need a 5 pin relay to make the abs light work right and a added earth for the handbrake light.

The mileage will be whatever is stored in the clocks - you can get them reset for about £30-40 iirc but you'd have to ask around for who does it. I was lucky and got clocks within about 1000 miles of mine which for an 11-year old car is fine

That's great news my old car it i swapped the clocks it automatically sets the higher milage on the clocks say mine was on 36k mile I brough some spare clocks to solder white LEDs into, put that in the car it had done 80k miles and was peed off put the original back in and that was now displaying 80k :'( was gutted!

I'm not to bothered about the price, more te fitting as I don't want lights i want a direct swap, 05 sti clocks for jdm clocks but I don't think it's that simple
