Default My '54 Wagon

Hi Guys,

I recently signed up here and just picked up my first Impreza yesterday. You may recognise it as I bought it from another member, Rez. Im really pleased with it so far, I think its the first time I have bought a car that can just be enjoyed right away and doesnt need anything major doing to it. I do have a few plans for it, but no major changes in the short term.

There are a few dents that I need to get removed and a couple of little bits of paint required to get it as I would like it.

I want to either change the wheels or at least the colour of them.

I need to address an issue with the suspension. The rear sits lower than the font. I have very little knowledge or experience of Imprezas but I suspect this may be down to it having sti suspension fitted. Do the wagons normally have longer springs on the back? The exhaust also catches the subframe, which I would imagine will clear up if I raise the back to match the front.

Other than that the only other things I need to do are replace the boot light and sort out an intermittent airbag light issue. Oh, and I need to replace the osf arch liner, as it decided to part company on the motorway 15 minutes after I picked the car up.

A few pics, which I've 'borrowed' from the for sale advert...

Looks very good and same I said before on the Rez thread

Not sure, but we are before run WRX shocks with Pi Springs and our wagon has sit as should(wagon has been lowered like at front or rear in same height)

About the arch liner is not problem, but you will need contact Subaru dealer about this and usually cost around £70 per pair...

thanks for the compliments chaps.

jura11, im not sure what rez thread you mean. has this issue been discussed before? Were your PI springs intended for a wagon, or were they saloon springs? I'll do some further research into it anyway.

I've sourced an interior light and wheel arch liner from a member on here anyway so thats 2 things sorted. Although I had said I wasnt going to spend too much on this car, being my daily driver, I seem to have just ordered a lip spoiler from HT Autos anyway.

Would any of you mind sharing your opinions on wheel colour please? Im going to keep these wheels, but change the colour of them. Im thinking either black or anthracite, but suppose Im open to suggestion. I also cant decide on matt or gloss finish. If any of you have done similar, pictures would be appreciated

yeah coilovers would be nice, but I dont intend to modify it that much really mate. its just my daily driver, for carting my dogs around and getting my kayaks on the roof. I've already got one car that soaks up far too much money, I'd rather not have another

I was thinking I may try putting stock wrx springs back on the rear just to see how it affects ride height, or try and lower the front to match the rear. who knows, i can live with it for now
