Default scooby newby

hi guys, my name is mags, im having problems with my scooby and told u guys may be able to help me. i have an 01 wrx bugeye tht has a flashing cel light. the problem started at new year, when i gave it a bit of hard driving, the engine sprung a leak so i topped it up and drove to mechanics, on the way the cel light started flashing.had leak fixed but cel still flashing. computer z it was cam sensor had it changed, still same, then cam pulley and belt changed, cel stil flashing. ne 1 ne ideas, when cold start its fine 4 about 5-10 mins, but when revs settle cel flashes and revs go up and down and car runs very rough. ne help r advice would be greatly appreciated, thnx

Did you rest the ecu fault codes

hi nossy89 thnx 4 the reply, ye as far as i know he reset the codes, y if he didnt would that cause the cel 2 come on again and the car 2 run rough

If they aren't reset then as far as I know the ecu thinks there problem is still there.

I removed my maf while the car was on to see if it was working properly and the light came on. It stayed on until I disconnected the battry and left it for 5 minutes. then reconnected it up.

the mechanic is havn another look at it on monday, i will certainly mention it to him, but u'd think he'd know 2 reset the codes. i just dont want to b spending alot of money on it and the problem still there, already spent nearly 1000 with no joy yet.

Hi mate. I have an 02 bug and my cell light turned out to be the Neutral Position switch in the gear box. £45 + £20 to fit. Yours doesn't sound the same as mine but it might be worth getting your Mechanic to check it. Doesn't take 5 mins!

cheers razor, wil mention it to him, as he even admitted he doesnt know whats wrong, amd wil just have to try a few things, so nething that points us in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
