just another Newbie thread... Marc Frobies BUG!
Hi guys n girls!
Im Marc, im 25 and from Chesterfield Derbyshire
I live with my 2 beautiful daughters, their mum and a dog! (Also expecting another in June! )
I have recently bought my 1st Scoob (and now have the bug, litterally harharhar )
So yeah, after last years harsh winter, and the fact me, the Mrs and kids were snowed in for a week - i thought this year it would be a good idea to buy a 4x4!
After browsing ebay over a few days, and getting quotes for a varity of different 4x4's i came accross this...
Its a 1.6 TS, with a few extra bits & bobs, genuine 72k with a lot of history...
After numerous conversations over the telephone, and a 120mile round trip, its now my daily driver!!!
YES, its slightly underpowered, but quicker and a lot better looking than most other 4x4's under 2l! Plus the insurance comes out cheaper for me on this than say a Suzuki Vitara (still f00king expensive though!!!)
Anyways, as im new to Subaru, i look forward to picking some of your brains for info and advice!
Few more pics:

Thanks and yep, i totally agree mate!
I did get some Subaru 15's with it but they need 2 new tyres... i like the look of the sort of twin spoke WRX ones? 17inch? Ideally i would have some rota drifts... but cant see that happening on my budget
Other plans are:
A general tidy up (front and rear bumpers need a re-spray, the bonnet scoop needs tlc AND i have been chasing round a drivers side front wing reflector/blank indicator since the day i bought it with no luck!)
De-badge and de-strip
Subtle side skirts
And possibly in future, wrx wings and bumpers...
Current "mods" inc:
Full window tints
Stainless steel exhaust (actually gives it a nice burble)
Bonnet Scoop
Spoiler

wrong place? Its on the bonnet...? lol - is it not sat where it should be? The previous owner fitted it... im not keen on it and it needs a bit of filler and a respray... was thinking of getting the bonnet wrapped or sprayed matt black (along with the scoop)... but dont know yet... moneys going to be VERY tight this year

Nice winter runner pal, screaming for new wheels though, I have a set of gold STI 8 alloys that would fit straight on to it with 4 decent Bridgestone tyres, £350 if your interested

Nice looking Bug, not everyones cup of tea but I like them (I've got one too ) I would loose the bonnet scoop though if I was you. You will no doubt have endless chavs racing you because they think you have a turbo. Can you tell I'm not a big fan of lookalikes? Anyway enjoy

morning d4vidh,
Again i agree about the scoop, but not sure wheather its bolted on or not, either way i would proberbly either need a new bonnet or to repair this one... Shame really as there isnt a single dent or scratch on this bonnet other than the odd stone chip... Any1 want to swap for a non-scoop bonnet? (worth asking )

Passed the MOT...
I think they could be 1 below (if you know what i mean?) - if you look at the 1st set of pictures you can see the front windows (where the doors are open) - its not as dark as it looks, just when all the doors are closed the car is v dark inside so makes the fronts look darker than they are...
