Default My new Subaru impreza gx STI rep.

Hi all im new to the site, not long baught my 2005 blobeye impreza after waiting a while for a good one to turn up.

The reason for buying the non turbo was purely insurance costs..

I will be buying a turbo, or turboing this once i can aford the insurance propperly, ive got to admit the lack of power is anoying.. after coming from a mg zr turbo with aprox 240-250ish bhp, but the sound of the subaru more than makes up for it!

So please no bad comments about it being a non turbo thats the reason it is.

ive only owned it a couple of weeks so not done alot to it, ive fitted a unequal lengh manifold so far, hoping to get a Vortex backbox and de resonated middle section in the near future.

So anyone got a afterburner system let me know please.

Mitch

Some pics

Few of the old zr.

Looks good, it's a deresonated centre pipe you want, a resonated one will strangle the burble.

As for turbo, insurance I'd imagine would be cheaper on a wrx rather than yours being modded, also more power needs brakes etc so just buying a wrx is a better and cheaper option.

Never seen a mg turbo, how did it handle the power through the front wheels.

cheers mate, The zr was a handfull torque steered all over the place, it had a t28 200sx turbo with a 360 rollar bearing, along with alot of other mods, i beat a few subaru's along with alot of other cars in it.. but time to move on spose, the new cars alot more reliable than a rover.. i hope lol!

I've just had a vortex fitted on my blob eye. To be honest it doesn't look really any different to yours now. As for how it sounds if you was to run over a bear and then have aforementioned bear gargling under your car on a month mouthwash that's how it sounds... Very nice and deep!!!! Squeeze the Heinz beans pedal and it rustles up a like a purring cat on coke. Very pleased with mine, bear is a sod to get off diff though.
