Look at the applied model code on the VIN plate and compare with the list on the SIDC website.

Quote from splitpin (post number 46) on thread below........

That applied model code was used on the 1999MY Impreza Turbo 2000 (i.e. the standard UK spec turbo car) so if you don't have an RB5 or an AUDM WRX, that's what you've got. Whihc is exactly what you'd expect for a car registered in Dec 98 with the offset coilpack.

I'm hating the bonnet vents, the matt look of the paint, the detangoing, the gold wheels and the dented-looking grille mesh. I can't see the boot debadging, obviously, but it will look crap, as it always does.

If you have got nothing nice to say...

I have only just bought the car...

Hating is a harsh word... the debadged boot looks pretty much like the pic but without the SCOOBY lettering that was on when I got it... camera phone does not take most clear pictures in the world but there are no dents in grill (there are some cable ties which are probably giving the illusion on pic of dents but in real life you wouldn't notice) etc... but then again probably best it was not a professional shoot as there is one small dent on the front wing and you would probably "hate" that and think it needs a 2k respray

Nice car mate, enjoy it.

Don't listen to the haters, some people have nothing better to do than slag people off on the net to cheer there miserable **** up.

Love the interior too, and I've just debadged and detangoed my car and gotta say it looks much better

Now get some engine mods done :-D
