Well, it's basically the Series McRae spec just without the badges. It has:

6.5 x 16" eight spoke Speedline Safari alloys
Recaro interior trimmed in Le Mans/Avus
Cheesy carbon fibre dash bits
Prodrive plaque
STI suspension

Only got it about a month ago with 25k on the clock... tis great fun. Can't decide whether to keep it standard or not though...?

Jim

Very nice.

Great wheels. I'm looking at a set from Graham Goode right now.

Standard? Beware, once you start modding, you can't stop. You must get a noisy backbox though to let the boxer do its rightful thing!!

Thanks Mattinfl... don't see as many about with these wheels on. Might swap them later for something a bit larger, but the ride isn't too compromised so am happy for the moment.

Tractor... I know. It's a slippery slope that I've been down a number of times before. Usually starts with a few little bits like clear indicators and repeaters, then smoked rears, then filter and exhaust.... ending in a 2.2l rebore, hybrid turbo etc

Anyway, bloody kitchen and bathroom are absorbing all my money at the moment so will definitely have to wait.

Cool

Jim,

I don't think many folks have those wheels stateside. I'm thinking about ordering a set of those (same size as you) in gold for my red mica coupe. How are they weightwise? Heaver than stock? Sorry for the questions, I've never seen a set in person.

Nice

Like the comment can't decide whether to keep standard or not

Tip, if you want to keep it standard don't revisit scoobynet ever again!! Specially don't look in the for sale or drivetrain sections

mmmmm...

I was looking for the 16 x 6.5 size. I may order a set from Graham Goode this weekend unless someone knows a better place?

Hi mattinfl,

Sorry, not a clue what the weight of them is in comparison to the stock wheels They seem to get a bit of a mixed reaction... some people like them, some hate them. I don't think they're too bad.

As for modifications, I'm slightly concerned they would attract additional unwanted attention. It's bad enough with Max Flower boys wanting to race all the time, but also thinking of the tea-leaving scumbags. I'm inclined to wait and see what the first year of ownership has to offer and take it from there. Will have to restrain myself from entering the parts for sale section though!!

No problem! Not quite sure what I did to help but you're welcome anyway And i've been informed that the speedline wheels are quite a light wheel. Hope that helps...

Jim,

I'm in a bit of a crisis. I can't find the Safaris anywhere. I tried Graham Goode, but they're out of stock and will be for about two months!

Can you recommend any other place that I may be able to purchase from?
