just needed tidying up a bit, wheels went from gold to grey etc,
this is where i started from,
changed the discs and pads

gave the car a full machine polish and interior valet,
changed the boring headunit to this:
decided to paint the front end to rid it of the stonechips,
this was her in the booth,
left overnight after having a bake, then me and chrisr went on a little trip to leyland, third time this week lol, to pick up a set of prodrive headlights to replace the bust ones on mine, now the lights for those who dont know are made by hella for prodrive, but they are now obeselte with no repair parts, the price new from prodrive was £500 per lamp!! needless to say i didnt pay that haha, they go for 3/400 on ebay, so i feel the price i paid was pretty good, so cheers haggy.
this morning i put the car on the ramp and took the clear down, panelwiped it and let it breathe for a while
looks pretty darn good matte blue, then i set about buffing the car and building it back up, i had a bit of a dud window molding, it had a slight dent in it, but i remebered having a spare scooby door out back, as luck would have it, the door was the side i needed the trim off
and fitted
then i gave the car a wipe down and a wax, used a new autoglym wax, which is very good to work with.
while doing that i took the door cards off and the speakers out of them, these are the offending items
very unsightly, and there 4" so not too powerful, my new door cards will be here monday so i went to my local audio shop and managed to get some 6.5" slimline fitting pioneers, these will be fitted on monday too,
then i wiped my wax off and this is how i left it:

fitted some door speakers today, slim line pioneer 6.5" speakers
crappy pic,
on the plus side they fit in with no spacers needed
not amazing in the sound quality but why drown out the flat four
then fitted the new door cards over the top..
one of these arrived today
its a brake stopper, stops the mastercyclinder moving forward under hard breaking, and a doddle to fit,
quite noticble when you try to press the brake to the floor now, much more sturdy. and for £30 deliverd not bad.
picked these up nice and cheap

along with an sti up pipe, which i took to work and proted and fettled it befor wrapping the pair,
battery also came for the clifford back up, with destructions too
started work on the intercooler spray,
bought another washer jet pump and gromet and fitted it to the washer bottle
then fitted my pipe work up along the oem routing to the scoop,
i need to find a decent mister to spary the cooler, i also have an electronics guru next door who is making me a boost operated system, so that when i hit 1bar they system activates and cycles a 3 second on, 3 second off 3 second on mist, its fully adjustable system so we can play with the settings.
got some hozelock mini jet sprayers for the intercooler spray, and the circuit board is built.
then i decided to get rid of the gold wheels, never been a massive fan of the gold, so this happened:
prept the wheels with red scotch and 500s paper were needed then into the booth, the backs were done with a black basecoat simply for coverage
then flipped them over and masked them up, followed by a light primer coat, to stop any reactions
then onto the colour, its a custom mix based off a bmw colour then tinted to be a little lighter, and clearcoated.
remap is booked for the 5th too.

looking very nice mate who is doing your map? i would recomend a 3 port boost solenoid and sti intercooler before your map don't cost to much and made a big difference when i fitted them to my bugeye and had a map tweak. wish i had fitted them first time

yeah dont get me wrong, its prob not a bad thing to fit, but for the price there going for £100 plus its a little on the steep side, for what they are, esp when you can get a drop in charge temps by tilting the standard cooler...im not after massive power more mid range torque and drivability. if one comes up cheap like ill have it though haha

prodrive downpipe and sti up pipe pretty much all fitted now, the up pipe is a pig of a job, dont want to do another anytime soon.
fuel pump in tomorrow and then off to andrew car for a map on monday, really looking forward to seeing how drivable he can get it.

Well the car is finally mapped. A massive thank you goes out to andrew car, firstly for mng the car after work and secondly for doing such a thorough job, this is the second car he's done for me and again it's turned out great. Spent about 2 and a half hours tinkering with different settings, resulting in a very smooth delivery which pulls to the red line.
We did try pops and bangs but the system on the car along with the prodrive cat simply quiets it down too much. Pity really but I don't want a super loud system.
Also fitted the launch control map, may try it eventually lol
all in all a great experience and a much more drivable car. The over boost originally was due to the wrong size pill being fitted and we believe it has a newer spec td04 fitted due to the figures it was pulling.

Standard on a bug is 17 so I can't say I'd ever considered it so just wondered - I'm looking at bigger brakes so couldn't consider it myself but for winter wheels makes a lot of sense
