How are you getting the photos into your PC? Digi cam or scanner?
If a scanner:
Your scanning software should have options for what resolution to scan at (how many dots per inch of the pic). 100 to 200 dpi is fine for posting on here I think. When you scan a photo what programme does it end up in? There should be some kind of resize tool, make sure you're not zooming in or out, and just fiddle around til you get it to an appropriate size.
If a digital camera:
I don't know if they all do, but my Kodak software has defalt options of how to save pictures. Things like full size and quality, or appropriate for emailing etc. It tells me what resolution and size it'll save as, and gives an example. Again, play around with this until you find something suitable.
Then you'll need to post it. See the sticky thread at the top of the gallery page for info on this. You'll either need some webspace to upload to, then you can link to the address of the photo using HTML code in your posts. That's how I do it. Or, use one of the uploaders. That's probably simpler I think, you'll avoid some hassle.
