Default My Classic Wagon Is Making Progress! (Lots of pic's)

Hello guys.

Well i thought i'd show you all what ive been upto for the last few weeks.
I bought this as a daily runner and hopfully to make my nurburg trip

Here are some pictures of when i first got her, to were im at today. She has to be ready for the 17th of june. So fingers crossed that she will be

Then its on with the work

Then i got the brake's, They were in a bad way.

And worked my magic

I got hold of a strut brace that had seen better days.

Now the car is painted here she is..

I had a full day of flatting the car with 1500 wet & dry and again with 2000 wet & dry.

Then a full day of machine buffing & upol333 compound.

Well thats it for now, I feel she is coming along nicely. I will put more pictures on as i get them. Should be good to look through this when she is totally finished If there is ever a finishing point for these cars, cos there is always some eles you want doing. Were just never happy

Thanks for taking a peek at my progress, There will be more to come

wayne.

Looks nice now but can't help thinking the rust will be back in no time as you've just filled in all the rust holes and painted over them. Doesn't make much sense spending on the paintwork if you haven't cut the rust out?

No rust fortunately, just more ripples than fat girl on a washing machine... Considering getting mine sprayed now after seeing yours, looks mint. How much roughly would a job like that cost?

Well a proper job would be around the £800-£1000 mark. You could get cheaper i suppose but you get what you pay for nowa-days.

I do paint work & mechanical work for a living, although painting something like a full car is to big to do in my garage, so i did all the bodywork myself and sent it down to a close friend (autobody worx in dewsbury)

All they did was apply the primer, i 600grit wet sander the primer. They put the paint on, i then had it dropped at mine were i went over the car with 1500grit wet then 2000grit wet followed by a full machine buff with Upol333 compound & built her back together

It cost me £400 for it doing.

If you was'nt so far away i may of been interested in trying to help you of somekind

wayne.
