Default Jimbo's RB5 - #388

Hey guys, I thought I'd show off a few pics of my RB5, number 388. I bought the car last October, its a factory WR Sport model, i.e, performance pack, WR clocks and WR spoiler.

Heres some pictures from just after I brought her home. Its my first Impreza, and I absolutely love it. I've got a company skoda, so the Subaru stays at home as a weekend toy at the moment. Brief spec:

- 52k miles, lots of history, 3 owners from new (inc myself)
- Recently refurbished speedline alloys, goodyear eagle F1s
- Lots of money spent on the audio, inc a becker iPod/handsfree headunit, upgraded speakers and subwoofers, and a massive amp on a custom bulkhead in the boot. Previous owner had this done, its a very neat and tidy install, you can't visually tell apart from the H/U that it isn't standard, sounds fantastic.
- Steering cowl mounted boost gauge - looks quite factory, almost like part of the WR Sport pack.

Since owning it, I've had the alarm ECU/siren replaced (after the car immobilising itself on the Rally GB - not much fun) and generally enjoyed every minute of driving it. Anyway, onto the pictures:

I haven't got many photos lately, but I've added a 3/4 front number plate, and recently sorted clear indicators.

I'd like to re-condition the brakes, and sort new pads/discs to improve them slightly, and get hold of some STI tailights (looking at the moment). I'd also like a de-cat downpipe, but unsure if I'd need it re-mapping.

Comments welcomed,

James

That car was on my list to look at but my car sale feel through and you bought it

It is a cracker If it were my car I'd keep the original lights rather than mess around with it. Did you get the protection film off OK??

That steel grey is the best colour for a classic IMHO is the RB5 bonnet steel or ally (I can't remember)?

Cheers for the kind words guys

Finally got my hands on a set of STI tailights (cheers lammylama ) and fitted them today;

Really pleased, they smarten it up no end, think they should have been standard fitment! Went out for a run in it;

God approves.

Cheers,

Jimbo.
