Nice!
Like what he has done, with the vents on the front wing,of the Impreza.
The Evo is running a twin charger set up.(supercharger/turbo)
It is running in the region of 650 hp,with very quick spool. He designed the ground effects kit, too.

I recognise the black Evo, often see it on the hills up this way, think it's running more than 650 BHP though, dunno WTF Donalds doing way down there though he must be a long way from home!

Not all fast cars are involved in T/A, theres some proper fast ones to be found on the hills and sprint tracks as well.

LOL! You might find some actually go 'proper' racing too...

Great pictures Richard. You likely to make an appearance at Prescott or Shelsly next year?

Cheers,
Rich.

'Long time no speaky' - great to read Karen's stuff on the other thread.

You guys still local?

*Short answer to your question is 'Yes' looking for a car as I type this.

The RA was sold in November 2009 and I took 2010 off from Loton and Shelsley etc. However, after a visit to Loton on Sunday (last National A event of 2009) I realised how much I missed it.

Plan is to pay at least one visit to Prescott next year, as I haven't competed at that venue.

Pennies are saved and burning a hole in my pocket.

Evo 5 is a possible choice (I have owned 5 x GC8s) so maybe time for a change, but saying that, the flat four burble is very addictive, and I am having a look at a Version 5 Type R on Friday morning that fits the bill financially and spec wise.

I will stick with Road Going Class for time being as you can see from the pictures that Modifed Class is where the serious money is.

PS Geoff offered me his car on Sunday - he didn't say how much £££, but who knows

56-57 second car at Loton
31-32 second car at Shelsley

Seen the Cottino Racing one at Harewood a couple of times this year, and was hoping it would be there on the 18th and 19th, so i couldnt compare my times driving John Stevensons car, but it wasnt.

Donalds supercharged beast is something and half, I gather he only just missed the record on this occaison here?

Excellent driver though too but that thing spools like nothing Ive ever seen.

Timed runs were 56.07 seconds and 54.80 seconds.

54.80 gave him 1st in Class and is 0.09 of a second off the class record set by Roger Banks in his S4 (record set 14/09/2008):

I don't think the S4 has run much (at all?) in 2010 - it has been on most entries for Loton Park and Shelsley Walsh.

Think he had a clutch prob Steven, he was and ahs been using a high rated normal clutch for a long time I beleive, no twin or triple, just a re-inforced thing

He now has had some fancy fandangled thing made to preference at last.

Yup we're still Worcester based. Check out www.karenphillips.co.uk for more info. PM me!

Geoff's car is beautifully engineered. I was close at hand when he launched at Prescott last time and it was utterly stunning... (He drives it well too!). We're biased though, as Karen's usual steed is Geoff's original hillclimb Impreza.

Evo? Shmevo! I know you'll make the right choice.

For those interested, more photographs to show the diversity of cars competing in hill climbs (sorry, not many action shots as my camera is one of the point and shoot idiot proof ones):

Lurking in the Paddock but not competing:
