E mailed you from work today but not sure if it will have got through as our whole systems are in the process of being replaced, changed etc. I have changed my profile on here to my home e-mail address which should work fine. You were right - i have a black rubbing strip on my P1 and I was wearing a white helmet/stripy green & white shirt.
i'll go on to your site again to check the names right now.
Done>> P103,107,& 108<<
Cheers

Thanks for the comments Mellow. It was the first time I had attempted going digital on a moving target.
Every other car seemed to be a P1....including my own! A non Scooby initiated friend who was along for the day commented that everyone had a car the same colour as mine.
A great day and I also picked up a set of Toyos from the Tyres Northampton guys end of the pits.

Are you sure it's your first time?
Panned shots, particularly if you have little control over the camera (ie non SLR) are very difficult. It took me ages to get consistent results.
Most impressed.

Hi Josh.
It was the first time with the 990 on panned. On manual the 990 Coolpix allows every adjustment and setting that my F801 SLR does. So I had the camera set to aperture priority set to f11 which on the day resulted in a speed around 1/30th sec. I wasn't that hopefull of the results due to how small the resultant picture of the car was in the frame. For web use though cropping a 3 mega pixel shot down still gives too big an image in most cases so I was well pleased. I have been consistantly blown away by how well the 990 does against film.
I have been shooting motorsports with an SLR and film since going to motorcyle events in the late 80's. I have some F1 pictures from the 90's on
http://members.tripod.com/~steve_breen/msptgal.html.
This was also my first go at a website
Two favourites....
and they were going a lot faster than the Scoobies on Saturday
Quite a lot of you will have seen my most famous work already on last years SIDC membership card of Pete Croneys dark blue MY99 at Cadwell.
If anyone wants a copy of the pictures on the site drop me a line as they are generally 50-100% larger than those on the server.

Edited as Tripod won't show the pictures!

Steve,
Excellent stuff!
A friend has a 990, and I'm amazed at the quality. Having said that, until the D1X came out I beleive one or two of the 'amateur' Nikons had larger files than the 'pro' D1.
I cheat on web stuff now, as photoshop 6 will creat a web page for you, complete with thumbnails etc. The code's rather basic and clumsy, but it does the job. On events where I get more pix of fewer cars (rally days, PR jobs etc) I use it for the CD's as well.
As for film, well I haven't shot a single roll yet this year!

BTW my car is an MY98 not an MY97 and no it's not an exhaust, that appears to be a dusbin that I ran over and trapped under the bumper I was up at the Tyres Northampton van looking for a jack to get it out...

Steve,
Top photo's mate.
A particularly fine example of a Blue/Black STi7 on the car park. If only I knew how to save it as a screen saver everyone in my office could look out the window and shout Snap!!
Nice one.

Do you mean screen saver Stevie, or background? If the later right click on the picture and then choose Set as background.
Does anyone know if the blue black STi in the car park was original or if it had been modified in the rear light cluster. Real nice if it does come with smoked lenses.
Plus any help in identifying/correcting (thanks Tim) various cars, modifications etc would be greatful.

Steve,
Car on car park is mine. Rear lights are blacked out, as are side indicators and front reflectors. This, plus removing the British Leyland esque Subaru and WRX Impreza badges was a must before I had the car. (As was ditching gold wheels)
None of it is standard but £100 well invested IMHO.
