I used "eyebolts" and existing seat belt mountint points (4 point harness - if I had kept the car the plan was to upgrade to a 6 point harness in 2010).
To remain in "Roadgoing Class" for sprints and hillclimbs I was not permitted to remove interior trim (hence the back seat is still in place).
If trim was removed, it would have moved the car into another class.
There are quite a few Impreza owners with harness set up who will give you their opinion/experience.
My fixings were passed my MSA Scrutineers.
