Default Pic request : carbon canister removal

Hi guys, I have searched for carbon canister removal on a classic and most of the threads are so old that peoples pictures arn't hosted anymore and have dissapeared.

Can anyone that has removed their carbon canister show me some pics of the progress, or even just a finished artical and i'll work it out for myself. I just need to know what I have to connect to what, and what sort of T piece im going to need for this.

My scoob is a MY98 classic wagon. Thanks people!!

See the looped pipe(s), that is all. Threw the rest of the carbon canister gubbins away.

Where does the left hand side pipe go to on yours?

Pretty sure on my mates old MY00 all we did was the same as mine, was a good while ago now though.

Im doing it mainly to clean up the engine bay and get rid of some of the rubbish in there. From some quick research iv done on here, it dosent seem to serve much of a purpose and isnt going to effect the running or safety of the engine. So its going in the bin! Along with the air con.

Thanks for that Darms, looks pretty simple. Where did you get yur Y pieces?

Phil739, From some light research on here it seems that no one has ever had a problem with removal of this. I dont think the Jap models even have it? We shall see i guess!

Darms, in your picture basically i can just VTA everything? Will i need any extra hose?

After a bit more reading it appears that they did, but only had 2 connectors on the top, rather than the three I have!

Yeah you can VTA everything. You will need some extra hose, I sourced mine from ebay .

It's really easy to do - if i get a chance over the weekend I'll take a few more pics

So what about the early Import classics that only have 2 ports? Can you do as above and simply loop one to the other? TBH Im not entinrely sure what It does and what effect it has removing the can? I Might jog mine on too, just a bit of clutter.
