looks very clean mate you must be very happy with it. i have missed your other post, so any chance of popping the full spec and power outputs to go with just i am in two minds on what to do with mine at the minute if to sell or treat it to a new engine and a big blower as i have had to pop a 6 speed in there already so would be nice to no what angle you took
cheers and cracking car

Hi skullfudge, i have to say i am 16 pages in on your project thread and i am very impressed.
now i dont want to hijak this one but i was looking at a 2.5ltr and a 321t+ built with supporting mods etc from a tuner from here and i have one or two doubts on drivability, now i am sure i read on one of the pages that you when you were runing 420bhp and i think marty said the same along with another poster that aroung the 420-460bhp mark which is where i would of thought mine would end up that the car spins the wheels in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th,
can i ask is this the case?
is that in the wet and the dry?
as that would make in my opinion a bit of a nightmare to drive on the road, is it a case of having to learn to drive a new way or can this be corrected without too much more money being spent. i would appreciate any advice. as if so it may be worth going for a lower spec as i want to try and keep the car the way it drives now just with more power.
thanks and again top car top spec

Hi Steve. you say you are up to page 16 of my Project thread, it's more like a book than a thread now
Before my car went back to RCM (current), it was running just over 400.
Marti is running 540 minimum.
Marti's will lose traction in 1st,2nd & 3rd in the dry, but what you need to understand is that Marti's car has been built & designed with drag racing as a preference.
I can only comment on my car whilst it was running a just over 400 and to be honest it was fine for road use. It is my everyday car.
I lost traction in 4th one day but the roads were damp and slippery. It was not a case of spinning up and fighting for control, as the split second it lost traction I put it in 5th and everything was ok.
If I were you I would carry on with your intended mods. It wont become a nightmare to drive, you just need to be ready when you know you are going to floor it. In the dry my grip was really good although I never use 1st gear on the floor.
In the wet I need to be careful in gears 1 to 3.
Regarding adapting to a new style of driving, that applies to 500bhp +.
You will find those details on my Project P1 600 thread in a week or two
Dont let it put you off further mods with your car. You will LOVE IT
Not sure what suspension you have but the EXE TC is strongly recommended.
Awesome grip levels !

thanks mate so in your opinion any where between 400-450 should be ok then, yeah i got to page 16 last night when i had then chance to sit down and get stuck in so just another 31 till i catch up.
i have fitted a set of kyb agx adjustables on p1 springs with a whiteline rear anti roll bar, rear alloy drop links and an anti lift kit which made the car feel a load better, i would of liked to go for a set of the litchfield ast but at the time i was going to sell the car so i went for best pound option rather than overall performance. if i do go ahead with it then they will be replaced at somepoint with the exe's or ast's etc.
so as long as i have an idea on that it will still be road useable i will put that to rest and look at all the other options on the engine build as i said i am looking at a 2.5ltr, md321t+, 800 injectors, fmic, rgm induction kit, fpr, baffled sump, oil cooler and a few other bits so it should prove to be a very lively car by the end of it i just have one issue that i still can not release the funds as it is a 9 year old car, even though i intend to keep it for a while i still think of the money spent and the sale of the car could get a newage spec c with some cash to spend on the smaller basic mods remap, filter, exhaust etc but i am sure i will be in the same place 6 months down the road with looking to take that even further arhhh the only draw back to owning an impreza is the modding bug that you catch lol

Yep. 400 - 450 will be good. Not sure if you have driven a classic with this power but when built correctly it's much faster than one expects.
To give you an example, a few weeks ago a friend of mine picked me up in the new Audi RS6 twin turbo V10 knocking out 581bhp.
We put that through it's paces on a "private" road that I have used for a long time to achieve timing tests, braking points, markers etc and my P1 whilst running at just over 400 achieved faster acceleration, higher top end speed within the same distance and was just basically quicker.
The driver of the Audi has been in my car several times and also agreed.
Good luck Steve. Keep us posted
