My Wales Rally GB pictures
What a rally. Apart from Fridays weather, Saturday and Sunday where unbelievable, clear blue sky, sunny and cold. Could not of wished for better conditions. It was the best Wales Rally GB I have been to. Anyway, this year I decided I wanted to go to the shakedown on the thursday and also do the Friday, Sat and Sunday stages, but not to do the stadium say evening.
The stages I went to
Thursday: Shakedown in the morning and Cardiff for the autographs and ceremonial start at 18:00
Friday: SS3 Myherin 1 then SS5 Sweet Lamb 2
Saturday: SS11 Crychan 1 then SS13 Halfway
Sunday SS17 and 19 - Port Talbot
Here goes:
Shakedown
Petter at the signing
Myherin
Sweet Lamb
Crychan
Halfway
Port Talbot
When we got to Sweet lamb in the afternoon, through the gloopy brown mud in the car park and parked up on the top of the grassy bank there was a group of guys (6 guys in 3 cars - classic mint green, Nissan Turano and a 200sx) The scoob made the grassy bank with ease, but the 200sx was a laugh. No matter how many runs at the bank, he just could not get past half way. who brings a 200sx to a rally Give him a bit of tarmac and a roundabout and its another story.
Rest of pictures here: -Darren-/Wales Rally GB 08 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I took a good 500 photos, but I was experimenting with settings and some had to be bined straight away.
I know m we where not competing, but this is ridiculous
Thats a job and a half to get clean again.
Thanks for looking

I have done Sunseeker to death (4 years) and did not go last year, but instead when to the Robin Hood stages. Much better, mini's Mk1 & 2 Escorts, Saabs and modern cars like the Impreza.

Its a bit of a treck for us now since moving 30 miles further north. Hence why we are now going to the Robin Hood stages.
Sunseeker is a good rally, but is really really popular and crowded unlike WRGB this year. No so many people about I thought.

Thanks all for your kind and encouraging comments. I need to get more practice and try and get more of the shots pin sharp. Glad its not a film camera, other wise it would of been rather expensive.
