Gurston Down Hill Climb
Went to Gurston today to watch a couple of rounds of the British Hill Climb championship. I have't been there for about 20 years so it was good to go back.
Rain the morning meant full wets were on and slow interesting runs
Very soon the track was dry and we were off and running.
This bad boy had 700bhp
This 1ltr engineed Imp didn't. But it didn't stop it being quick
Are your wheels ok mate
Tilt
Couple of these there, although one had a front mounted cossie engine
Heavily modified S4
7ltr sand racer
Plus some really quick stuff
I really liked this - Tisbury garage Jim
What was best was the easy going nature as everyone there. Loads of old boys racing big heritage cars and really giving them the full beans. The speed trap around 500 yards from the start line was sprung at 136mph by the quickest car.
An enjoyable day
