Thinking of doing that trip next year. How did the tyres and brakes hold out?

Killed my RE070's, took a spare set of 888's, killed them too

Brakes lasted fine, ran 6 consecutive laps of the Nurburgring GP circuit & the Nordschleife without issue on the Zakspeed trackday.

Hello Mark,
I think you must have been the one who took me out for my first ride on the Ring last friday! I was the one with the grey wagon.
Thanks a lot for that, I really appreciated it! You were really quick. The only problem now is I got the ring bug! When are you going again?
I am thinking of going in the end of october.
I have some photos of the old timer GP I need to upload.

Not a problem, I'm happy to give passenger laps to anyone that asks. I wouldn't say I'm really quick, only doing 8:30 BTG laps on TF days although I don't personally time my laps.

I'm back at the Ring September 6th, only managed 104 laps since April

Compared with the 10:03 & 9:49 of mine after 12 laps you are quick
You overtook me on saturday afternoon i think towards the end of the track giving passenger ride to 2 blond lasses
I love the ring but it's an expensive addiction.
After having powerstation's stage 2 kit fitted (prodrive springs instead of eibach though) and the ring i have the dreaded knocking noise from the front left . Not sure if it is the spring not seated properly (did a quick search) or the shock absorber(?) as I only get it at slow speeds when going over ramps. Could it be the rose joint drop links that I have fitted. I have only done 3k miles (or less) since the conversion though.
I will have it checked at the next service but got another track day coming next week.

It's all about circuit knowledge. The more experience you have, the smoother and quicker you become. It's a fast flowing track and very different to typical race circuit. It's all about carrying corner speed and not braking, there's only a couple of corners I'm hard on the brakes. Most of the time lifting and dropping a gear is sufficient.

Yes, that was me giving Lucy and Polly a lap. They enjoyed their 1st Ring trip and are coming back out with me next month.

I have the same addiction, costs me a fortune going there every month
