Hi guys
Can any of you IT bods help a novice to post some pics of my car.
I've got a couple of nice pics with my new camera, problem is every time I try to edit out the reg the file size balloons.
How do I edit out the reg and keep the file size small enough to use the uploader? What size should the pic be and what dpi etc
Thanks
Chris

A lot depends on what programme you use for the editing. I use Corel Photopaint so chances are it'll be different to what you're using. For me to edit and size I just copy the pic in, do the business with my fill tool, resize it by percentage if necessary then save as a fairly high res jpeg and upload it to my website.
Corel has a useful facility whereby you can 'checkpoint' your image, then if you're not happy with the changes you make i.e size etc you can 'restore to checkpoint'. Don't know if other programmes have similar. The other thing with Corel, depending on my settings etc is that it'll keep the pic the same size as the original unless I tell it to do otherwise. I know in the past I've used Paint (yuk) and it tends to resize everything huge! Only used it once or twice so didn't hang around to find out why.
You need to tell peeps on here what software you're using to edit your piccy then hopefully some bright spark will be able to give you instructions
