Default day off work....had a buff !

I purchased myself a few buffing and polishing wheels off ebay, thought i would have a go at bringing my intercooler and heatshield up to speed,so to speak

Quite impressed with the outcome for an afternoons work, started out with a course buffing wheel with some medium compound, gradually reducing the course of the wheel/compound,until i ended up with a near "mirror" reflection from the i/c and head shield

what'da think guys

next up tomorrow is the alternator and a couple of brackets

cheers marcus

Trying to motivate myself to attack the alternator, tis time consuming but with a little patience, results can be super duper!

i will contact the ebay seller and ask for commision

it is a bloody tedious job,but well worth it in the end.

Food for thought though, next time remember not to drop the alternator fitting bolt down the engine took me about an hour to fish it out with some string and a childs magnet

Rad shroud is an APR item.
Belt cover is a eBay one from the US... was really good quality so i borght it.

Ive a few ideas for mounting various partrs of the breather and fuel system too when the new motor goes in.

The temptation to start polishing things is pretty high now after seeing your work but i want a more purposeful look to the bay.

hi phill

took about 2 1/2 hours to do the intercooler,1 1/2 hours on the heatshield and about 45 days to do the alternator

for people that cannot be bothered, but want the bling i will willingly do these items on an "exchange" program, but must be like for like i.e hawkeye intercooler for blobeye intercooler(in same condition) etc

cheers marcus
