gutted:)
Had the bumper and splitter only fully resprayed 3 weeks ago. car was looking pretty mint.
Parked up a local petrol station to me, popped in to get some few things whilst leaving my two young kids in the car.
Came out to find a ruddy big green lorry parked right next to me..and I mean next to me, about 6 inches away.
I thought it was a bit dodgy and too close for comfort and far too close for me to inspect for damage (which I found out later was intentional)
Got in the car and my eldest son said that he thought the lorry had hit my car.
Couldnt check so as I drove off the forecourt I noted down the lorries reg in my rear view mirror. Got home and found out to my horror just what the little ****s had done to me. :censored:
Luckilt had manged to get the right reg number so called the police and then popped down to the station where my 7 year old son made his first ever police statement (probably not his last )
Insurance are on the case. CCTV from the garage is also being used to prosecute the driver. Little ****er had also reversed after hitting me and then sat there waiting for me to go thinking I wouldnt notice or get his number. :censored:
The real pain is the car was all sorted and clean and I was looking forward to having a bit of detailer session next weekend . Now I have to try and get it resprayed at my expense and get the *******s nailed for the costs.

He drove in to the petrol station to either ask directions or turn around. Finding that he couldnt get past my car, he must have thought he would have a go and after crunching the wing thought best to back up and then sit there hoping I wouldnt notice.
what he failed to understand because he was such a thick conning unscrupulous ****, was the fact taht kids mention everything !! and there was a bloody huge cctv camera pointing right at him.
Hope he gets mullered by his insurance company and his boss.

Chris, that is such bad luck. I hope they throw the book at him.
I think there is a trend going on as you had just had your bumper re-sprayed and you have this little incident, and Sara having a similar ordeal. What is going on?

i agree with what everybody else has to say.... but and its a big but why didnt you just have a quick look whilst you was at the garage as it would of been much easier to sort out with the driver present ?????????
please dont take this question the wrong way just that these days it is so hard to sort things out with the insurance when all you have is a reg number.

Cops will see this as leaving the scene of an accident, I had something similar happen to me and my motorbike few years ago, witness left me his reg, which was handy The **** responsible then got a visit from plod, where he was arrested n taken to the nick, and later on the court threw the book at him. He got a large fine and had to take a driving course iirc

Couple of people have asked me this
and rig
truth was
a) I dont always take everything my kids say as gospel
b) the lorry was parked so close I couldnt see
but I see your point and in hindsight I wish I had got out the car and confronted the driver but with his obvious underhand tactics I guess it would have been a slagging match.

Cheers everyone....
CCTV is sorted, 24 hour it runs for and pointed right at the front of my car.
Now all I need is for the plod to pull his finger out and go down there and get the footage before they erase in in 28 days....who wants to bet they dont
Getting the car done next week, its not going to be cheap, new wing, sort out the bumper, wedge, sidelight etc but at least the other party is insured I found out.

Swiss, I'm sure if you explain to the garage why you need the CCTV footage you'd think they would give it to you just in case plod for whatever reason don't get it in time mate!!!!

These are the badges/courses done by people who monitor/work on cameras, not just a operators badge,
Dont suppose you have any mates who are security guards? many arent B badged but you may get lucky,
also I believe its 90 days they have to hold the tapes for,
just my 2pence worth.

Is it not the case that if you 'star' on CCTV then you have the right to ask for the film as part of the data protection or freedom of information acts? You pay the company a fee and they make a copy for you. I saw it many years ago on the Mark Thomas Comedy Product. I prepare to be corrected though.
