Straight swap, but thankfully Scobymad did it for me

Took about 1.5 hours I think it was. Seats are great, much grippier and I think it looks way better inside now.

Not sure if the STi7 or UK300 seats sit higher, maybe STiX can confirm.

I know that the STi8 ones do, as I fitted a set last week and have since taken them out in order to modify the mountings to drop the seat down.

Being 6ft3 and always having the classic seat wound right down it was very noticable to me.
The classic seat also has height adjustment on the front and rear of the seat base (i.e it rocks back'n'forth) whereas the later seats just have a single base height adjustment.

The Passenger side is also higher then the drivers too...after further investigarion, it is also on the classic seat but not alot compared to the difference on the newage seats.

I will start a DIY seat lowering thread once things progress a bit further, but I have already started something here : STi 7/8 Seat Lowering for a Classic - Sussex Scoobies Forums - Powered by Bling!

Thanks

Yes they do sit a little higher, but after a while you don't realise - just get used to it. Its not much higher though, don't know exactly how much?

I think there is about 1/2-3/4 inch difference on the drivers side and about an inch or so on the passenger side.
The main difference is that you cannot drop the back of the seat base down on the newage seats.
the images on the link above show the difference between drivers and passenger side of the newage seat.
I will add images of the classic seat feet when I remove next time around.

Have you sat in the passenger side yet ?
Even my wife commented how high the seat felt.

No I haven't sat in the passengers seat, I am sure you're measurements are correct but to me it doesn't visibly look higher - and anyway I sit in the driver's seat

No mate, Scobymad had these before me, and he sent them off to some bloke on the Isle of Man to have them retrimmed apparently.

Got Sti8 interior in my, they do sit higher, i don't find it a problem on the drivers seat as i'm only 5ft7 but do find the passenger seat too high, everyone who sits in it comments on how high they feel.
Will be interested to see how u lower them.
