Default PICK UP MY NEW TOY IN THE MORNING BIT OF A DOWN GRADE ON THE ENGINE

Pick this up in the morning fancied somthing old school and to help keep my licence Its completly standard and on original plates had a quick check before I brought it and the plate alone is worth £1600 diddnt pay much more for the car. no tax and £130 classic insurance, so if you see me at the bottom of a hilll give us a push
This is what you call going back to basics
If you seee this about essex give us a hoot and a wave
Hope to have this running sweet for the classic london to brighton run
let us know what you think.

You think thats basic....

I can go one better, try 1929 Morris Minor,... no, not the Moggy Minor, think Austin Seven, then the Morris equivelent........ throttle in the middle of the three pedals!!

Ace!

I had one!

TPL 88 in dove grey.
It had reverse rims on it and oversize crossply tyres.
The engine was (resting) in the back and it had already hydraulic drum brakes.

A hot rod already!

I should point out I was 17 at the time, and it was 1970....

It was a solid as a rock and i had great plans for it, but so did my mother who was disgusted by it all and promptly had it towed away to the scrap yard.

It was a difficult time in my life and the family (father died that year) so emotions were high you might say.

It looks a beauty, and almost deserves to be kept stock.......maybe.

My beloved Y type Ford arrived shortly after, the car before the Pop and that did survive and what an adventure that was!

For example

Hope you learn to stop it!

Graham.

ps: Today, Berpop comes to mind (just google the word)

hah funny you should mention the stopping performance. My old man had one in his youth to, and regularly had to use hedges to slow it down I understand they have a quirk with the floors rotting completely away, so I guess you could also stop them Fred Flinstone style

Did have in mind to hot rod it but it would be a shame to ruin it as all the numbers match up and are original so in two minds what to do probably get a unfinished project with rolling chassis allready sorted

had a bit of a clean up today and hasent come up bad for a 50 year old car
