mick - nope. get your car detailed properly and it'll stay plenty red enough if you then maintain it. or if you want to do it yourself, zdouk have got 50% off on zymol starter kits while stocks last. everything you need there for £52.50 delivered to keep it looking spot on. once you've got it back to a nice rich red that is.
here's mine.

here's mine from a couple of weeks ago
now has shiney red 4 pots and hopefully new wheels at the begining of next week, if they turn up on time.
*UPDATED PIC*
now with new rims and 4 pots
Dont really have a problem with the pink, it was pink when I bought it right enough but after many hours of hard work it is a lovely shade of red and gets a polish at least every couple of weeks.

I use AutoGlym products. I realise I may get better results with some of the products detailers use but as much as I like a clean car I bought it to drive rather than show, have done the show thing with previous cars.
Besides I live in the Isle of Man and with the limitless roads over here a clean car does not stay clean for long

I use Extra Gloss all the time, even use it on my windows and mirrors, acts a bit like Rain X.
I think Super Resin Polish can be hard work at times but I am always pleased with the results especially if used after Paint Renovator and followed by Extra Gloss.

it is good stuff. i've tried out all sorts lately. i've just treated myself to a range of menzera, jeffs and zymol products. i've not used the zymol yet as i only took delivery of it yesterday. i can;t recommend the menzerna enough though. just has the edge over AG. i'll still be using the EGP to top everything off though. Never thought about using on the windows and mirrors though. i'll give it a go.

it sounds like you need to remove the oxidisation and contaminents from your paint. get yourself a decent car shampoo. wash it using 2 bucket method, then claybar the car (meg quick detailer kit from halfords is a good start), wash it again and rinse. dry the car off with a good quality microfibre drying town and go for the compound you've got to remove the defects / restore the colour. be careful not to burn through your paint though as you're using the rotary. then clean the product off and get some autoglym SRP. apply this with the rotary using a finer polishing / finishing pad. then top it off with a wax or acrylic sealant. finally use the megs quick detailer on a decent microfibre and buff to a shine. should last a little longer then. just top up in between washes with the qd unless the car is very dusty. if it is, 2 bucket method again, rinse, apply wax / sealant. it'll take time to build up but be worth it in the end.

The stuff i have is both. i got the power gloss compound, very strong, intensive polish, final finsh II polish and one step acrylic jacket which is an acrylic sealant. i then top it up with jeffs werkstatt carnuba and megs qd. not cheap but cracking stuff to use and gives a deaper finish than the AG SRP.
