Default Brembo Conversion

Had the newage Brembo brakes fitted to my classic yesterday courtesy of Richard Henry in Bradford. They stand out a mile off!!

Soooooooooo much better than the standard 4 pots, the bite is so much better and give you much more confidence to brake later.

1. how much did it cost you all in?
2. what is involved to fit them?
3. is it really a massive difference in performance?

I've got these on my car, They are a great upgrade on a classic.

I had to learn all of the braking points all over again, I'd be putting my foot on the brakes as per normal coming up to a roundabout and I'd end up a good 100 yards short!!!!!

They are fantastic in the dry, but be careful when it's raining hard, I have to dab mine first to clear the water off them before they bite really well. I think it's down to removing the dust guard.

I used the hubs, discs and 2 pots off a newage wrx, so braking balance is still pretty good.

Looking good, what size wheels are needed, can you get away with 17's?

Cheers

Wink

17's will go on at a push but you've gotta watch what wheels you put on... The spokes on some wheels won't clear the calipers...
You can overcome this with spacers... but then you run the chance of the tires catching the arches...

My 18inch Prodrive reps clear with ease... painted my brakes with Halfords red brake paint... then added some e-bay white Brembo stickers to them... finished off with a few coats of lacquer... I hated the gold... but each to there own...

IMHO this brake upgarde is a must for any classic owner...
Nice one Banny... looking good and stopping better...

The wheels I am using are 17" and they did not clear the calipers, so I had to use a 10mm spacer and longer studs to clear the calipers. I have no issues with the wheels catching the arches. Scoobyslammed you car was partly responsible for my upgrade as they looked soooo good on your car, I thought it would be rude not to fit them
