What are the brake's like now..
I have a set to go on to mine next week.:norty:

banny sti 13 January 2007 07:12 PM

Soooooooooo much better than the standard 4 pots, the bite is so much better and give you much more confidence to brake later.

RUDDY 14 January 2007 02:18 AM

sory mate what was i thinking???
Banny your car might stop better now fella but put the original **** ones back on cause they just dont look right through Kilos eyes pal!
mayby cause he smoked a Kilo! LOL
joking apart why do they look ****e ??????

kilo_4que 14 January 2007 02:24 AM

cos its a white car with a black bonnet. And gold calipers dont go well

RUDDY 14 January 2007 02:55 AM

in that respect its personal choice though id say! and thats fair enough but hes upgraded his brakes, increased his stopping power and improved the spec of his scooby with this mod! he could paint um pink if he wanted but atleast the hard works done lol!

kilo_4que 14 January 2007 12:14 PM

Im only kidding you numpty :lol1:

Before he bought them i knew he was buying them ;)

DannyBoy007 14 January 2007 01:47 PM

I've got these on my car, They are a great upgrade on a classic.

I had to learn all of the braking points all over again, I'd be putting my foot on the brakes as per normal coming up to a roundabout and I'd end up a good 100 yards short!!!!!

They are fantastic in the dry, but be careful when it's raining hard, I have to dab mine first to clear the water off them before they bite really well. I think it's down to removing the dust guard.

RUDDY 14 January 2007 01:51 PM

LOL Kilo i had a skinfull of Vodka last night! my head hurts!! lol!
so how much would you expect to pay for an uggrade like this all in??
certainly interested!

scooby1979 14 January 2007 03:15 PM

look good mate
am getting mine done next week fronts and rears
will post pics

banny sti 14 January 2007 03:50 PM

I used the hubs, discs and 2 pots off a newage wrx, so braking balance is still pretty good.

Banny

Hi how much did they cost you as i need something good to stop my classic. Ive got twin turbo legacy and has its so quick i have trouble stopping it sometimes and my ass bites the seat. Plus i go through front pads rather fast... Cheers Jason

Before selling my car i was in two minds of buying these for mine but in the end wasnt worth it since it got sold.

Excellent upgrade indeed although i liked a set of Wilwoods on my mates car

Banny you still havent shown me them in person, when you coming down ;)

scoobyp1 14 January 2007 05:14 PM

How much ???

Scooby Wagon 14 January 2007 10:31 PM

Looking good, what size wheels are needed, can you get away with 17's?

Cheers

Scoobyslammed 14 January 2007 11:37 PM

17's will go on at a push but you've gotta watch what wheels you put on... The spokes on some wheels won't clear the calipers...
You can overcome this with spacers... but then you run the chance of the tires catching the arches...

My 18inch Prodrive reps clear with ease... painted my brakes with Halfords red brake paint... then added some e-bay white Brembo stickers to them... finished off with a few coats of lacquer... I hated the gold... but each to there own...

IMHO this brake upgarde is a must for any classic owner...
Nice one Banny... looking good and stopping better...

banny sti 15 January 2007 02:19 PM

The wheels I am using are 17" and they did not clear the calipers, so I had to use a 10mm spacer and longer studs to clear the calipers. I have no issues with the wheels catching the arches. Scoobyslammed you car was partly responsible for my upgrade as they looked soooo good on your car, I thought it would be rude not to fit them :thumb: ;)
