Default My Blue Scooby WRX Type RA

Well guys, been here for a short while but haven't been able to take any decent pics of my new pride and joy as I had my camera phone stolen...

I'll update this page with new pics as and when I get a new moby.

1997 Import WRX Type RA - Ltd. Ed. Number 766 of 1000
Has 555 WRC Blue Bucket seats - Will add pics shortly

Any ideas that any of you have for modifications will be greatly received. This is my first Scoob so am new to all this malarky!

Very nice mate. Get rid of that exhaust for something like a ScoobySport exhaust. Not too loud, looks nice and subtle. It'll give the car an amazing burble

Cheers guys!

Yeah, I was thinking about the exhuast as I've seen a few Scoobs around Bournemouth and on here that have the decent looking Jap style ones.

Just checked out the ScoobySport one, made by Janspeed especially for them, so it must be good eh!

There's a fitter in Northamptonshire so I could try and organise a fitting whilst something is happening at Silverstone!

Main thing I need to sort out is the stereo as it's the original 2 Din CD/Cassette combo and it's pants...

Probably stating the obvious, but crystal pack, exhaust and eibachs would make it

Thanks Dazza!

Awesome motors ain't they Anger? Couldn't believe the acceleration when I first took her out for a test drive. Came back grinning like a Cheshire Cat! lol

Stix - Sorry for being a bit of a n00b when it comes to mods but is a Crystal Pack do with the front lights, repeaters, indicators etc?
And with the eibachs, are we talking full suspension kit or just springs?

Exactly mate - crystal side repeaters, front indicators and side lights are £110:

http://www.flat4online.co.uk/catalog...200-indicators

Eibach Pro Springs, just the springs are about £130. Have some for mine, but haven't got around to fitting them yet - firms it up a bit and lowers a tad (about 25mm).

Cheers StiX - Am looking into the Exhaust, I'm guessing a full system is the way to go with decat and larger diameter down pipe/centre section?

Found the Crystal pack from Scoobyworld for £85 standard or £100 with silver bulbs that flash amber. (Road legal too)

Springs for £130 sounds a little easier to stomach, just paid out a fair bit for the car, insurance, security etc and a grand on suspension is gonna have to wait... lol

How much you reckon it should cost me to have them fitted?

Thats a good price for the crystal pack, mine are the ones with silver that flash orange - had them for £90 delivered, and work a treat.

I was asking the same thing about fitting costs myself, and sounds like between £80-£120. It is advisable that the geometry is set at the same time really, but that will obviously cost more. I am just going to have mine changed, and then see how it goes with a view to get the geometry done later on at Powerstation.

I did ask Powerstation how much for fitting and adjusting the geometry, can't find the email now but think it was £175+vat.

pauld37 - Nah, I was looking at cars from both West Moors and Family & Sport Cars in Southampton, clapped eyes on this and couldn't help myself even though she was out of budget. It's amazing what a good looking Scoob can do to you mentally... lol

Nice one StiX - I'll look into having that done in the next couple of months. I'll post back fresh pics to show how she's coming on.

Just realised I didn't answer this question.

Full system definitely needed.

However, I would recommend a Sports Cat downpipe so you don't have to mess about with swapping it back MOT time. I have a Ninja Sports Cat Downpipe, excellent kit and passed MOT on its own no problems.

As for centre and backbox, depends on how loud you want it and style etc.

Magnex, Hayward & Scott - burble, not too loud.
Ninja - pretty loud.
Blitz, Afterburner Vortex - very loud.
Z5igen - mental

Revolution also got a great rep, and there are loads of others.

Have a look here for some ideas:

Cheers Kilo - I actually feel a little guilty changing anything on her but peeps on here are right, Exhaust and De-tango definitely need to be carried out. Also I think lowering the car a few milimeters will actually make the wheels a little better too.
What is the general concensus on mud guards?

Thanks for all the info StiX much appreciated! : - Looks like a full Ninja system or a Blitz Jap system for me then!

Yup Zero, changes need to be done mate. Just makes me think how someone has kept her so original. Would love to buy such an original car.

Personally I would: DeTango, Crystal Light Pack, (i know some may not agree since its a RA but) side skirts, hockey sticks and front splitter all colour coded too, different exhaust system and maybe wheels but i pretty much like the standard wheels so not too fussed

Right, I know side skirts and front splitters but what are hockey sticks?

I've looked at a few options for the front, rear and sides as I want something understated, just to enhance the lines of the car - i.e no cornflakes box cutouts lol

Hockey sticks are basically the skirt things that go on the rear bumper.

Regarding which ones to buy, just stick with standard ones mate. No point going aftermarket.

As with the front splitter, Id personally buy a genuine version 6 splitter from dealers which would cost you around the same if not less than the P1 replica splitters out there. I got mine for 97 pounds inc VAT (i think)

Oh cool, I know what they look like then. I was imagining something horrific strapped to the car somewhere... lol

I'll look into these parts but I'll need them painted and fitted, any recommendations in the South West for this kind of thing?
