i was marshalling on that event, very very spectacular driving, guy in a Lancia (green and gold i think!) was Snijer's main competitor if i remember correctly it was 1998.
i have the programme in my desk at work.
This was the event when a young Colin drove the **** of his nova, rolled it, put it through numerous walls etc and won his class by a country mile !!
oh happy days

It proves that real rallying died long ago. I love watching rallying on the box but i never go out of my way to watch WRC - on the other hand there is often amature rallying on Sky with old Escorts, Sierras, 6R4's and similar with is absolutley fantastic to watch.
I wish they would ban auto boxes and some of the other technology and go back to the days of hardcore man and machine action

Always get the urge to get me an old school rear wheel drive toy when I watch stuff like this - I had this on Video once, can you get it on DVD ??
very glad u enjoyed it and i too wish we would see more 'man and machine' rallying today. i still respect the current machines and drivers, but nothing seems more entertaining than an H pattern and some heel and toeing...."driving like u stole it' action. there're are several more on you tube.

I'm sure the Video had a set of Pace Notes to follow Mark Lovell through a stage too - quality stuff........
