i was marshalling on that event, very very spectacular driving, guy in a Lancia (green and gold i think!) was Snijer's main competitor if i remember correctly it was 1998.
i have the programme in my desk at work.
This was the event when a young Colin drove the ar5e of his nova, rolled it, put it through numerous walls etc and won his class by a country mile !!

oh happy days :):):):)

It proves that real rallying died long ago. I love watching rallying on the box but i never go out of my way to watch WRC - on the other hand there is often amature rallying on Sky with old Escorts, Sierras, 6R4's and similar with is absolutley fantastic to watch.
I wish they would ban auto boxes and some of the other technology and go back to the days of hardcore man and machine action :thumb:

Love the no nonsense "drive it like you stole it" attitude of oldskool rallying.

Stunning display of driving ther mate... in what i may add to be the best beemer ever.. the E30 M3 :D

Get out of your armchair mate! Active diffs were banned in the WRC for this season and the BRC is all group N cars!

Unfortunately this was 1989........and like me your cracking on over 40.......:lol1: :lol1:

Always get the urge to get me an old school rear wheel drive toy when I watch stuff like this - I had this on Video once, can you get it on DVD ??

That reminds how thoroughly average I am behind the wheel. Outstanding work. Thanks for the footage :thumb:

very glad u enjoyed it and i too wish we would see more 'man and machine' rallying today. i still respect the current machines and drivers, but nothing seems more entertaining than an H pattern and some heel and toeing...."driving like u stole it' action. there're are several more on you tube.
