Frayz, how long have you had it like that, and have you driven the car in wet conditions ? If yes and all is well then great, but the last guy I remember on here who ducted like that overwhelmed his filter with water, dirt, oil and diesel, which then made its way onto the MAF and very nearly killed his engine. Hope yours is OK.

Ive driven in some propper downpoors mate, admitedly ive been a little careful like not sitting behind vehicles exhausting alot of water from their tires.

Its been like this about a month now and im checking the filter regularly. Alls fine at the moment mate and the improvement to charge tempratures is massive.

On top of all that i think it looks proper menacing

Glad to hear, but do keep an eye on it. It does look cool

I remove my OS fog when on track but haven't ducted it. Haven't got any fancy gauges so can't report on temps and stuff.

Well the standard setup is quite simply crap.. and just removing the snorkle is even worse.

When we logged it with ambients of say 14deg C we would be getting over 40 deg C at the MAF!!!....... Thats rediculous!!!

After fitting the ram air port direct to the airbox we would be getting maybe 1 to 1.5deg C above ambients.

This means on full tilt in say 3rd gear, running 1.45bar through a stock STI cooler we would be getting nothing exiting the cooler above 31-32 deg C with ambients of around 15 deg C.
