Borrowed one (600) for a trackday at donnington and hated it

Never been a gsxr man, think they're a bit lardy looking. I've had a couple of 52 plate GSXR's (750 and 1000) and never felt that inspired on them. Although I'd certainly have a new one!

Miss my old zx10r though, now that was a beast!

Must have been the old 80's one then

What do you reckon on the new gsxr 1k then? From what I've heard they are a bit easier to ride fast? Wouldn't mind a nip out on one. I must be one of few that actually like the can on the gsxr 1k. I hate all the underseat pipes (fashion over function) and was dissapointed to here kawasaki went for it this year.

Nope it was the latest bike in black looked superb.
Moto x style steering damper Super Corsa tyres well sorted.
He rode my Gixer and prefered it as he could touch the floor easier as he`s a short ***!!
As far as power go`s and all the stories of wheelies in 4th and stuff.....well I`m already used to that and it doesnt scare me one bit

I think the press hyped the bike up to something it could never be (scary wise)

I've even asked people who owned them before I got mine and they said they'd come up in 3rd off the power (no other input).. bollox do they. I mean they are quick (as most new 1k's I guess) but not as mad as some make out.

The new generation 1k's are pretty flash though I think, I had an sp1 with power commander and cans after the zx10r and it felt like a 250 in comparrison (especially when I got back on my mates zx10r one day when we swapped)

Only thing I didn't like about the 10 was the terrible durability of the finish. The frame/swingarm would wear through so easily, rivetts round the disc rusted, etc. Can imagine they'll be falling apart with a few years use.

k5 gsxr is the first one I've found visually appealing
