Default SMACS first run of the new year

Big thanks to supertouring for an excellent route round most of the bank holiday traffic today
Although the roads were very slippy in places, this made the journey all the more enjoyable, and kept the speeds within safe levels. Thanks to all who turned up for the drive, and here's hoping you join us again for another drive out later on in the month. Wouldn't mind doing that run in the dark one night
Anyway, I've got some video to edit, but here are some pictures to whet your appetite for know *warning* scoobys in a carpark shots
VIDEO UP NOW HERE Click here to watch smacs_020106_stream

Make sure your not late, 10am sharp, says supertouring, this was taken at 10:10, just as he arrived

A couple of stops along the route, to admire the scenery, and make sure steelx knew where he was going.

I'll let mike explain his embaressment

The wyioc may recognise our eventual dinner stop.
All in, a good mornings drive, hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Even my kids did, which isn't normal
See you all on thursday for the official smacs meet.

Chris.

Where were you today?

Dai

(If I did not know it was me then I would have thought that the man is a freek! Top photo as usual CW)

It looks bad on that piccy, but the cloud was clinging to Whernside and the rest of the sky was starting to break up and show fleating glimpses of blue. The Ribblsedale road is superb isn't is with fabulous sweaping open bends with good sightlines and that jump about 2 miles out from Hawes which nearly pushed the AST's through the strut tops. We went on to Buttertubs and then had a stop at Aysgarth before heading along the Richmond road for Ripon as some of the guys needed fuel. As the light was fading after the fuel stops we called it a day and returned to the Trading Post for grub and a debrief

We must all meet up one day. Maybe on your Wales run

we're actually looking into combining a track day at trac mon for a whole weekend of driving fun Drive around wales on the 1st day, then track-time on the 2nd day, or visa versa, whichever day we can get the track on. Having more numbers would be benificial to all for costs I think.

Been around Anglesey, tricky little circuit but good fun I think I can assure you that you'll get quite a few of the WYIOC there, so give us all the details and let's get it sorted.

Nice one, just seen one of your members on my travels tonight Pauleds2 bumped into me at dean row petrol station in wilmslow, it's a small world.
I'll get in touch with our welsh route master, supertouring, and sort out getting a post up in northern. Probably going to be sometime late feb, early march, keeps the cost down and the roads quiet
See you soon,
chris.

Haven't seen Paul in ages. I think he's scared of the dark

As for late Feb / early March, we have our own trackday coming up on April 8th, which we will be offering an invite to you guys once all the WYIOC's have had first grab at the available places We also have a trip to the Geneva Motor Show in early March (7-9), but so far I'm the only one to bother booking my flights so I could be on my own

Let us know what you get sorted

lol
we're all very busy all of a sudden, soon be xmas
We tried for the geneva show last year, but it fell through, I think the fact it's in geneva puts people off, and think it will be mega expensive, but I'm sure its not. No point having stuff too close together, like you, I've got to watch my time off at weekends, as I usually work saturday, and overtime sunday nights

If any of you fancy Geneva, we're going midweek March 7-9. Flights out of Leeds & Bradford were £19 each way (+tax etc, meaning £64 return) but are now £24. If you stay on the French side the hotels are reasonable, but a car will be necessary so another £82 split between whoever's there.
