MY06 STI Spec C Type RA
Took delivery of one 2005 JDM STI Spec C Type RA imported from Japan (see http://www.subaru-sti.co.jp/spec_c_RA2005). A little bit of damage to the V lip spoiler but nothing major...
The car is beautiful, the STI V Lip spoiler, silver STI mags and larger STI muffler (110mm) are great. I also love the black alcantra centre console with red hazard light, makes the interior alot smoother and not so plastic.
In terms of driving and performance, this car is really quick, feels like a good 200kW or so ATW based upon comparisons with my previous STI. Excellent spool from the ball bearing + titanium turbine VF36 turbo and the top end feels better than the equivalent VF37'ed STI. I suspect this is due to the superior cylinder head flow of the STI Spec C, different ECU mappings the larger muffler and STI air panel in the airbox.
The sound of the car is quite raw due to the larger muffler and removal of sound deadening material, at high RPM and WOT the car begins to howl in a fashion that vaguely reminds me of an S2000 with the top down, just with a harder edge and no whine...
Handling wise the car feels a lot more sure footed than the STI, no understeer whatsover and very chuckable The STI Spec C Type RA has alot of added suspension bits over and above the STI Spec C (adjustable struts, lowered springs, stabilisers, rear brace) which kind of implies this is going to be a dream around windy roads and the track...
And now for the pictures...

Your car looks gorgeous, really nice indeed. The only thing about this new shape that I can't get used to are the rear lights. If you were in the UK you would understand why
Enjoy it.
Enjoy it.

car looks stunning, looks just as good as the white one.
There is just one thing that looks a little strange to me and that is the wheels/tyres package, the wheel looks really small and the tyre wall looks really big, gives the impression of drag tyres.
but apart from that I really like the look of the car, very lucky to get one of the 350 to be made.

This car is almost perfect in my eyes, if they had put the 18in STI mags (which are available) on the car or the 18in from the S203, absolutely perfect...
