One to watch - STi V3 (lots of pics)
Heres my pictures of a project I was lucky enough to get my hands dirty on yesterday.
The project car which is an STi V3 (not V4 as previously stated!!!), owned by my friend and mechanic at L+M international in High Wycombe, now has a 2.3L API built engine, with more mods than I can even remember and hopefully more power than I can imagine too
The engine, complete with AP racing exedy clutch, lightened flywheel, FMIC, new sub frame, H frame and top strut brace, fuel pressure regulator, forge re-circ d/valve, Pipercross induction kit, lightened pulleys, etc etc etc all went in yesterday in one mad day which saw the 2 of us eventually leave the garage at 0500 sunday morning
Still to be fitted are the electronic controllers for the boost, fuel, etc
Heres some pics
Finished for the night, and yes, we know the number plate is rather big and needs moving
cheers
Cliff

Great pictures mate, esp like the first one of Jim going "what the **** !! put down that camera and help me you mutt !!! "
I knew it was going to be a long job, but 5 in the morning is some slog..no wonder you were too much of a nancy boy to get up for our meet..
Jim must be well happy that the engine is now in and sorted and I bet he really appreciated all the cups of tea and **** that you held for him whilst he was working. (not qualified for anything else)
Dont forget to tell him that the turbo, flywheel etc are all mine
700BHP....mmmmmm nice

Madmooro - the headers are wrapped to stop heat rising to the engine block above I believe - dont quote me though
Si (SSP) -Me too
Swiss - I make a mean cup of tea, and im also known to be great at undoing bolts and removing bits, sometimes I even remember which bolt is for what part too
Dean F - LOL, very good
Shaggy1973 - not sure what the paint is, but it looks as good as a brand new STi
I did suggest a brake upgrade, but mechanic Jim reckons they may be ok!!!!!
Adz - I`ve yet to here it, and Jims still running it in softly softly, so he still hasnt heard it at full chat either. We had a technical difficulty at 0500 so gave up and he fixed it without me the next day, hence me never seeing it actually run
You know it`ll sound great though

Extra mods I forgot include - ceramic gaskets, carbon fibre prop shaft, samco hoses, a huge big monster turbo upgrade, plus so so much more and nitrous still to be fitted. This scoob is gonna fly, and we`re looking forward to the new season at Santa pod next year

atlas rsv4 - i`ll definetly pass on your suggestion cheers.
TC - The car is definetly a minter mate That is the standard alternator, but its been sprayed up silver
Jake - I dont know why a new sub frame was fitted, but i`ll find out. The gearbox being used is (I believe) the standard STi one.

Kev, the scoobs still running in and hasnt been opened up as yet, but those miles are now clocking up and soon its time to unleash the beast
Mags, broken again!!!! Bad luck bruv
Mervil, the headers were already wrapped, so we`d be unsure of the answer. David at API supplied them so I can only direct you his way

Kilo, the alternator was dismantled and painted before being reassembled and fitted to the car
To answer an earlier question, the sub frame was changed as this new one has been seam welded for extra strength.
Approximately 500 miles of running in left
