G&D auto cosmetics did the prep and painting and mr wild.... gee thanks for your comments, sarcasm is a great thing isnt it? Im guessing like other forums people are prejudiced just cos of what i drive? well im only 18 so if people cant appreciate it its fair enough but I've done more than any other 18 year old, I actually care about motors but cant get insured on much at the mo, thats an 1800 zetec and is about as much as I can afford, and as for the oh dear comments, pity its quicker than 2.0 sport imprezas isnt it? now be nice, Ive come here to join in and not be slated like elsewhere

if you are going down the escort cosworth bodykit route, then it's wise to actually make it look like one. i't just doesn't look right....

also, faster than an impreza sport?? dream on. escort 1.8 zetec can be shutdown by a decent remote controlled car

my escort is 0.1 seconds behind a sport of its age as standard, beyond that it has been modified so it easily beats 2.0 sports so tough sh*t really, Im not here to come out with the "my cars faster than yours" bullsh*t because its not all that quick, but neither is a 2.0 sport so what the f*ck gives people the right to go slating me when i simply post a few pics of my car wanting to join the forum? f*ck it im off if you cant have any decent respect, like BM drivers you think you own the roads, see ya around

as for the cosworth bodykit route you're wrong, im not going down any "cosworth" route, do i want to look a tit? its like badging a sport up as a prodrive, whats the point? I went for something original and unique, it is that. if you dont like it, fair play its your opinoin, but how can you come saying "its not right". It is right, you know why? Because i made it that way, i wanted it to be like that, so yes, it is right, grow up

I hate max power and little chav scrots, Ive been into cars since a young age growing up around high power cars, I left my last job with a few grand saved up to run a turbo conversion on the zetec as its easy to do, use a mk5 inlet as its alloy, drill and tap it, same with the sump, also alloy. Use a focus RS manifold, an RST charge pipe, an intercooler off what the hell you want, plum it up, fit a map sensor and modify the cams and flywheel if using pectel management otherwise use fezza ofab and away you go.

Only two weeks before getting the car on the road someone keyed it, i couldnt sell it as it would be worth nothing and repairs were 500 quid so why should i pay that kind of money to put it back to how it was after id saved everything i could? Dont come telling me im some max power boy just because you have no respect for the younger generation, you might be older than me but you still have no idea. There is your reason to the bodykit and by deliberately avoiding whaletails, cossie vents, and both bumpers i was deliberately keeping away from a cosworth look, besides the fact its the wrong f*cking shape of car for a cosworth anyway it has a different front end and a different boot lid so thanks but no thanks. You guys can say what you want about me but you are being unfair getting on your high horses, get the full story before you label me, simple as. You must have started somewhere, what was your first car? cos i bet 9/10 of you were in worse cars than me first time round. To anyone else readin this i dont mean to offend anyone but why should I be labelled and tossed aside for no reason? Im merely sharing my car with you all

dont worry about the small % of tossers on here.
Most us respect the fact that those owners of other marques that take the time, pride and spend money on modding their cars are well worth the respect due. Its the wannabe's that crack us lot up
I had a sport before a turbo and there is no better way to join the community if cost is an issue.
just enjoy it mate

I dont expect people to love it, they might do, they might not. I just think people should learn to respect others and their choices and not come out with sarcastic bullsh*t like "who sprayed your car? ray charles?" and "oh dear"

Dont take this the wrong way guys im not talking about all of you but does it surprise you that many scooby owners get bad names for themselves? Its no wonder with attitudes like that, people should respect others like themselves, If i could get insured on a 2.0 turbo I would but unfortunately I cant.

I worked my assoff for my car and have funded everything for it myself, no finance or anything silly and at the age of 18, im proud to be able to say this is my first car and I took it from standard to what it is today, all off my own back

lol the reason he'll have the same wheels? cheapskate special hehe, they were £750 delivered.

18" x 7" with toyo proxes on which are like £120 a corner anyway! so it works out very very cheap Plus i needed an offset of 27mm for the wider arches as opposed to the standard 38-40mm so I bought peugeot wheels

I used to be heavily into the modified car scene. Your car is a good effort and I like what you’ve done with it – colour and spraying job looks fine to me! A lot of people on here just don’t get the whole modifying cars thing.

Welcome to the forum. First thing to learn is to accept that some people will be pretty harsh on here with the old comments and some will just have their own view. Can’t expect people on here to treat you with the same respect as they would in real life, so don’t let it get to you. It’s the same with all the forums by and large.

Stick with Scoobynet – there is a huge amount of knowledge on here about Scoobs and most people are more than helpful. Good luck with the sale and enjoy the car while you still have it.

Take it easy.

How much you been paying for the insurance on the esser?
Must be a fair amount on a 1.8 at 18.

I know what you mean with insurance, I'm 21, just bought a turbo and they killed me on insurance. It's got to be done though!

All the best with the scoob anyway, best thing you'll ever buy

Dont worry what people think of your car, as long as you enjoy it then thats all that matters, and you seem like you have done a decent job from those pictures.
TBH I wouldnt bother with a Impreza sport, I would stick with the car you got for the time being, and save money to get Turbo Scooby when your a bit older, Having a sport only going to get everyone trying to race you and you'll get p1ssed off when they beat you, and if you spend a load of money on it, you'll only be kicking yourself when you can finally get insured on a turbo and youve spent all your meney on the sport.

lucko, you're a ****, plain and simple. I came here with an open mind. You've closed it.

There is sweet FA wrong with the rear quarters, they follow the swage line at the same height witout any drops, besides that theres nothing that can be wrong anyway.

The car was designed to be unique, not a cossie rep, it is.

I've taken a eurostyled back end and a more agrresively styled front end and combined it together, Ive brought it together by using wide arch which're usually seen as aggressive but my way of toning them down was to make the angles on the swage line smoother so they dont join the body at 90 degree angles giving them a smoother look, it would look ridiculous as a cossie replice. Why? Its a mk 6 not a mk5a which means its just a lot more bubbly in general with the round tial lights and head lights and the rounded bonnet. Thats why on the front end ive had the impreza vent smoothed in to take peoples attention off the front bumper slightly and to break up its harsh angles and lines which the bonnet cannot hack without the vent.

As for your "mint type r", signing a post like that says it all, you've got your head shoved so far up your own **** you can probably still see where you're going providing you open your mouth wide enough to let the light in. You have no vision and just sound like a poser who drives a type r, why? because you can. Well f*ck a doodle doo aint it all just perfect then! As long as you look down on the rest of us you're happy and I stand by my grow up remark from before, I dont give a flying sh*t that you're 28 and im only 18. At least I have the ***** to admit I am what I am and I know how to respect and socialise with others without having to slate what they've done, so what were you doing at the age of 18 lord sir and all mighty one? what "mint" car were you driving then?

And matt, with the insurance job.... you'd be surprised. They're only 115bhp as standard but with £500 you can take it to near 135 bhp amd before i get slated for mentioning apparent max power gains ill let you know how first before you judge. And its simply a case of.... the mk5 escorts came in two models in the XR's, 105bhp and 130bhp. The mk6 GTI/Si like mine was only 115bhp. for 500 quid to add near 20bhp you can take the 130 XR3i mk5 exhaust cam and throttle body or a throttle body off a 2.0 mondeo and bolt them on, and then a good chip, i reccommend motorsport developments at blackpool. That provides a good base car to work with and only group 10 insurance. I looked for weeks working out what car was best value for money and insurance and what they were capable of and that was my decision. I hate to say it but the next car behind that believe it or not was a saxo VTR at 98bhp but it had the advantage of handling and size/weight in at only a group 7 but i wanted to avoided the boy racer and "chav" car comments and no matter what I did i'd have to spend shed loads on it and a VTS would still always paste it so what was the point modding a VTR and so I chose the escort. 0-60 is only 9.2 but for a first car isnt bad. the impreza sports of the same age are only 9.1 as far as i know and i dont think theres any simple mods about like the throttle body and cam job on the zetecs so I have fun playing with them and regardless of what lucko or any of you guys say, it does beat them, not trying to be a ****, it just does. It fairs well against all sports, even modified ones. Im not claiming silly power because its an 1800 N/A, it aint gonna happen, im just being realistic. I want to move onto an impreza sport not because of the speed but I and many others just see them as a more classy car with better looks and more refined
