Default Hi...My New Car

Hi...I`m fairly new to the site...
Just bought my first ever scooby a few months ago....and thought i`d share a few pics

How i bought her...

First mod had to be the lights....

2nd, had to put this on..

Next was the windows..

Then took the original scoop off and put the STi version on...

Then the repeators and reflectors...

The best thing i`ve put on so far...lol...Blitz Super Sound Dump Valve

Then the cold air induction kit....

Next was the strut brace...

Then was offered to swop my silver alloys to the anthracite ones...Had to do it...

Just a rear view

Another front view

Apologies if i`ve bored anyone , lol....Was a bit bored...

Cant wait to meet some other scooby drivers for hints and tips on what to do.....Thanks

Nah i want to start on the engine mods next...but dunno what to do..
I want to put the defi gauges in...But i wanna know about the manual boost controller...Is it everything people say it is, or not worth doing it....

And the bonnet scoop is a genuine WRX Sti verision bough off Ian @ Montys in Sheffield....They are the same bonnets so the scoop fits straight in, just an inch or so deeper.Looks much better...And usually they paint the little fins in the middle black to look like one big hole...But i left them silver, i just thought it looked better......About £150 i think it was...

Well, to start I'd change the back box and centre section to free things up a bit and release a bit of the Scooby Burble, prices can vary a HUGE amount depending where and what you buy for the car.

My list of performance mods would include:

* Full De-Cat System
* STi Panel Filter
* Uprated Fuel Pump
* EcuTek 3 Custom Re-Map

With that little lot, I think you would be looking at around 290bhp with a massive increase in mid-range flexibility. It would be a completely different car to drive.

I wouldnt bother with a Dawes Device to be honest mate, if your car is running fine as it is then I would refrain from chucking one on and winding the boost up.. I'd just save for a Re-Map which will give larger, safer gains.

I'm sure there will be other peeps along in a bit to add to my list/give different options to my list of recommended mods.......

Cheers,
Grant

Hi...And thanks for the reply..
Forgot to say that i`d got the wr sport back box on aswell, which is a dealer part and sounds nice, but not too loud...

Definately wanting a decat...
Is the Sti Panel filter just the one in the air box, if so then i have put the cold air induction kit on so cant to that...
Whats the uprated fuel pump do and is it worth doing if i`ve done no other engine mods yet?
And definately get the remap done...Just been enquiring about that at Scooby Clinic in Chesterfield....

Also cant wait to meet and see other people rides when you lot meet up...
Please let me know when the next local ish one is....I`ll be there...

Sorry mate, never fully took in the mods you'd listed.....

Forget the Panel Filter, your Cold Air Kit is probably more effective!! If you're happy with the WR Sport B/B then all you need are the extra de-cat parts, it should make it slightly louder once you've removed all cats, but it should remain pretty subtle with the B/B currently fitted.

The re-map is definitely worth it, as I said, you will NOT be disappointed!!

The uprated fuel pump will allow the person to map the car more confidently as a new uprated fuel pump is capable of flowing a lot more fuel than the standard pump. IIRC the standard fuel pump is reasonably stressed at standard boost levels.. so once you start fiddling about trying to increase power it is recommended as a safety precaution to fit a Fuel Pump that isnt under any strain at the new levels given on the map, if you do not do this, then you run the risk of running lean....... and causing major damage to your engine.

Sorry if thats a bit jumbled, but I understand it!!

Cheers,
Grant
