My Pride (and oh so much) Joy
Got the car about a week and half ago. But have been trying not to drive it until it got a clean bill of health from the local Subaru garage. Anyway, it had a full service and check over and I picked it up yesterday. Engineer said it was a lovely example.
Car is a UK Turbo 2000 (MY98) with Prodrive Styling. There seem to be a few other mods to :- Quickshift, Clear Indicators, PIAA lights, suspension upgrade (STI suspension of that era according to the engineer).
Spent ages going through Autotrader. 6 years old and only 32k miles on the clock. Think I got it for a bargain price too.
This is the same model car I had 6 years ago, which I had to give up when I changed jobs. So after nearly 5 years being Impreza-less it's great to be back Needless to say I'm grinning again

That is one lovery example you have there of a classic.
Just needs some gold alloys, a few choice graphics, a prodrive RB5 spoiler (you know the one i mean) and STi rear lights. Then i would look the really special
Just an idea.

Thats a great car you have there James, nice to see an original Impreza for a change, glad to hear you're not going to bolt on any silly mods,
I'm sure if you keep it as it is, with that low mileage it will hold its value far better than the Chav'd up Imprezas.
Brake upgrade is a good idea, a far better investment than some neon lights.

Thanks for the comments folks. Car will be staying as is (no graphics, neons, massive spoilers or stupid wheels). Each to there own I say and you won't see me taking the **** (well not too much). When I signed up to ScoobyNet 5 years ago things were totally different. I just don't get what's going through peoples minds that seem to equate some of their styling choices with good taste. Anyhow starting to sound like my parents and their view on my music taste Live and let live!

In my defence, I needed a new spoiler as I really wasn't keen on the low-level one I had - but I felt an RB5 spoiler was good choice

I have heard of this many times, people can't find 'mint' cars and people with 'mint' cars can't seam to sell them.
If you are prepared to pay enough you should not have any problem, but as the mark gets older and 'mint' examples rarer you may have to put you hand in you wallet to get one.

Nice one James, the car looks mint.
I went through almost identical circumstances five years ago; lost my MY99 Silver UK Turbo when the company I worked for got taken over… the cheeky sods tried to give me a Mondeo! Needless to say I soon moved on.
Took a while but I finally got my own MY01 WRX last year, so know exactly how you feel.
Happy Motoring.
