Just bought myself a christmas pressie
Just bought myself a little something for the hard work I've put in this year
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 FQ330
My previous ride!
Slightly different from my 03 STI in all aspects, here's a quick rundown of my observations so far.
Acceleration: Savage, head mashing, totally outrageous
Handling : Quite stunning, ultra sharp, ultra responsive, although on very bad/bumpy B roads the STI felt more planted and able to absorb the shock better.
Interior : Not as "cockpit" as the STI but very nice, seats are awsome and seriously fugure hugging to say the least.
Instruments: MPH dial = pointless! Far too small it actually made me pmsl really. Its as if the Mitsi engineers forgot it and thought "****", better chuck one in as an after thought. Can't realistically use it with any sort of accuracy and 0-180mph in less that half a sweep of the dial is bizarre.
Sound : Miss the Impreza "warble" and manic roar on acceleration, doesn't have the character of the STI that I'm used to although does sound deep and understated, almost stealthy.
Conclusion : Love it, Hardcore, velociraptor in wolfs clothing, furious acceleration, ride comfort verging on masichistic. Total departure to what I've experienced in the STI. Like the 2006 Impreza pics and will certainly test drive accordingly.
Note to self: Must stop waving at scooby drivers as tend to get a rather strange look. Done it twice already

You lucky barsteward.. that looks mint.
My mind is all over the place at the moment, I will be getting a Lancer next year but I am stuck on what to do?
Do I get a used FQ3xx when the 9 comes out and prices for the 8 drop, or do I get spend a bit more for a MR320 when the 9 arrives?
And my final problem is I think (fairly positive actually) that I can get a brand new JDM IX for the same price as a used MR320?
Can't do anything until April time so I will keep an eye on 2nd hand prices and the Japanese exchange rate.
Safe driving and see you over @ the MLR...

Centre section decat.
Bailey Dump Valve
H&S Stainless Steel 5" exhaust
18" Prodrive PFF7's
Prodrive panel filters
Must admit I actually miss it ... hey ho, doesn't help the price too much when my local Subaru dealers are reducing the price of scoobies by £2k

Really pleased it's gone to someone who will appreciate it mate good on you!
How good does it sound with that exhaust? The girlfriends kids are already badgering me to get a dump valve on the Evo!
They were p1ssed off at the fact that they can't hear it when we pick them up from school sometimes
Rest assured the car has been ridiculously pampered mate, any info I can provide just pm me.
